Stroller Decorations?

Headed to WDW in September with our little guy (who will be visiting Mickey for the first time!) and I have kind of a silly dilemma.

I managed to score a really nice used stroller for a really decent price. Problem is, it is the exact same model as the strollers rented out by at least one of the local companies.

Especially since it is our first time dealing with a stroller in WDW, I am concerned with either losing it in the sea of identical strollers or having someone take ours by mistake.

I know that I can put a sign on it with our name but I'd really like to come up with something that we can spot easily, without purchasing/dragging around a balloon for the entirety of our trip.

What creative (*but not obnoxious*) ideas have you seen/tried? I've heard of bandanas, ribbons, loofahs, flowers, boas, and balloons. I'm still not overly excited about any of those options...

Thanks, friends!

You just need something familiar that catches your eye. For me it's a yellow scarf with a colorful polka dot print. Not obnoxious or over the top, but I can spot my stroller in a sea of hundreds with that scarf looped around the handle. This time around it seems like every single rental stroller has a teal cover, but my little scarf is doing the job.

I'm not sure what I can suggest that you haven't already heard about, that still fits the "creative but not obnoxious" category, other than a laminated sign with your family name on it. Whatever you do, you'll want to be adorning the handle of the stroller (or whatever other part is highest and will stick up the most in the sea of strollers). Perhaps a colorful bucket hat clipped to the handle? Washi tape? A small American flag (mounted on the handle or inside a cup holder) or pinwheel?

Like this lady... ;)

We put rainbow colored Yarn tied on the side of the handle area and also tied some yarn on and had it hanging off the back and attached those Mickey Mouse paint chips from Home Depot(Now Walmart has the paint). It was definitely not something that anyone else could confuse with their own.

I had actually considered a pinwheel... I don't mind that too much! lol
I guess I would love something Disney themed that would stand out to us when looking for it in a crowd, without making me feel like a 3-ring circus drawing attention as we walk through the park... Maybe my expectations are just too high.

We used ribbon and I made a little sign that sign that read "Cassidy's Carriage" with pics of Disney princesses hanging from it. Remember half of your stuff will be on the stroller. Odds are it will look different than others based on what you have in it already. I would def look into using ribbon... It won't matter either if it gets wet in the rain!

My girls have used a stroller on 3 of their trips. On the first 2, I had this big thing of balloon ribbons on a wide variety of colors. It made it stand out, it looked really festive, and it was pretty much impossible to get off without scissors. On the 3rd stroller trip, I used a bunch of fun men's neckties.

In the past, we've used the Mickey head paint swatches from Home Depot as luggage tags and stroller ID. They work especially well if you can laminate two together.

Edit: Apparently, Home Depot doesn't have the Mickey swatches anymore. Wal-Mart has Disney paint now, but I don't know if they have the swatches. Regardless, you could laminate a couple of paint swatches together in your favorite color (maybe DIY Mickey heads!).

I've seen people use pictures of their children before instead of a name tag. I guess when the stroller companies give out the strollers everyone gets the same nametag. While with the picture, I highly doubt someone would mistake your children for theirs ;)

Guess I never shared what we decided on... I had an epiphany when I realized that I find my car by using the antenna topper so why wouldn't it work with the stroller?! So I ordered a Disney one (of course) and an antenna we are going to attach to the stroller. I'm also working on attaching glowsticks to a pinwheel for nighttime. And I designed a stroller sign where the letters of our last name are decorated like the Fab 5. I'll take photos once everything is all done. But I definitely think noone will confuse our stroller now ;) And it SHOULD be easy to spot in the seas of strollers! Thanks everybody for the tips! :)

I don't know if you are using the Disney buses or not but if you are I would nix the pinwheel idea or anything that sticks out too much. It might hinder you with folding up the stroller or it might stick out and poke someone. I would try it out and fold up the stroller before you go. We always used a bright ribbon and tied it around the handle.

Good thought! I will plan accordingly- either to have it swivel out of the way or easily detachable for bus rides :)

Brightly colored duct tape on the handle always works lol. You are surely going to see a highlighter green handle stand out. I've also seen people use the large bendy flowers. The big flowers from like the dollar stores that can bend into any shape, you just wrap the bottom on the handle and the flower will stick straight up practically waving you to the stroller. Also since they bend and re shape easy you can bend it down to prevent it from getting in the way on the buses and trams and pop it back up when you need to. :)

We've used a brightly colored scarf or headband wrapped around the handle. (The headband is now basically a permanent part of the stroller handle.) :)

I agree with DisneyF@n. I opted not to rent the City Select because I was renting an Ecomony sized car and I was afraid it wouldn't fit. Plus, it was easier to get through the airports with baby already in a coach. However, it was my lightweight Jeep (the $50 one from Walmart in black & blue) there were umpteen identical Kolcrafts while we were there but I was able to spot my coach based purely on our belongings/cups/etc. Yes, the Cast Members are constantly moving and condensing the coaches, which makes the heart skip a beat every single time you return and you coach isn't exactly where you left it and you have to search. But it wasn't that bad, I suppose it aggravates some more than others. But really if you want to spot it right away without actually decorating I'd say just use a large cup or bottle you'd easily spot in the cup-holder.

We are going in September too! My daughters stroller is pink, so I took two bands and tied bright colorful thick ribbons on them. I put one on each handle so I can spot it easily. :)
