Stress inducing pin code...Dolphin or AKL or Mod

So, my fiance and I are booked at the dolphin at the teacher rate of $129 for the 3rd week of july. We just got a pin code for August, $89 a night for moderates. $139 for wilderness and akl. Now I am so confused, should we push back our trip and save like $300, should we push it back, save nothing and stay at AKL or WL?

I have been waiting forever for a pin code, now we get one and it is causing me to stress out a little bit. I know it is a good problem to have though, a lot of people are struggling right now and I feel fortunate to be able to go to Disney this year.

Also, I was just wondering how easy it is to do a split stay, 2 nights at AKL and 4 at dolphin. The morning we would be switching resorts is kind of a free day, just planning on hitting one of the water parks. Will disney transfer our luggage from AKL to the Dolphin?

I thought I had everything set, and now I am getting a really bad itch to stay at AKL, even without the pin, with the general summer discount, it will only cost us about $100 more to be able to stay there for a couple nights.

The Dolphin, while light on the Disney "feeling", has the advantage of being within walking distance of Epcot and Hollywood Studios. If you are driving, be sure to include $10/day parking fee. If you are flying, keep in mind Disney Magical Express does not run the Swan/Dolphin. I'm assuming you're already taking into account the $10/day "Resort Service Fee" (eg. for the "free" water bottles, phone calls, and internet access).

WL and AKL have more Disney "feeling", free parking, and access to DME. But you'll have to bus/drive to everything.

Me, myself, I am more than happy with the moderates. Port Orleans is excellent in this regard.

DME does go to Swan/Dolphin. It shares a bus with POP and CB. However, I read somewhere on here the service is not free for guests at the Swan/Dolphin.

I personally would stay in a Disney Resort. While the Swan/Dolphin is undoublty beautiful - the extra fees make it pointless.

You're going to get tons of opinions...so I'm gonna get mine in early so I'm more persuasive :D

I've got nothing against the moderate resorts at all, and saving what will wind up being like $300 isn't chump change. But I have very very soft spots in my heart for both AKL and WL. Were I in your shoes...first I'd get out of your shoes because I have a wide width and your shoes would pinch. Next, I'd call guest services and find out how much more it would be to get a Savannah view at AKL (I'm assuming the $139 price would only get you a Standard view, which could easily be no view at all). If the difference is minimal, or if you get lucky and the $139 IS for a Savannah view, I'd take it. But chances are, a Savannah view would probably be at least 50 dollars more a night. In which case I'd be torn between the two.

The Dolphin is also a lovely resort, but I'm a sucker for the Disney touch.

When did this change? Every info site I've found says DME doesn't go to Dolphin/Swan.*

Edit - The Swan/Dolphin website does not mention DME in their FAQ, but they do state "Mears is the preferred service provider for transportation for the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin". Since Mears runs DME, do they simply put you on the same bus? The FAQ says it's $33/adult and $26/child round-trip.

WATCH OUT! i got that same pin code, and during my stay there were no standard rooms available at WL or AKL... only upgraded rooms which were way more expensive... just because the pin code offers them at $139 a night, doesn't mean those ones will be available.

your best bet is to call and see if using the pin code would even save you any money for your stay.
