Strangest Shows in the Parks

I was looking at a video of Jim Henson's Dinosaurs LIVE show at D/MgM and I was dissapointed in what they did to tie the show in with a parade and Dance "Walk like a Dinosaur" I mean sheesh! They could have done better....Wait scratch that...they did do a strange stunt thing with Ace Ventura as well. So which brings be to the question

Anyone see any of the odd shows and or Parades while at the parks?

The Ace Ventura show was the coolest show I have ever seen: I was 12 or so and the film was revolutionary to me. I also think Flights of Wonder is strange and odd. Not terrible, but only seen when convenient. It's been a while since I've been backstage there. If I remember think it's too small to renovate to make anything worthwhile. Anyone want to confirm/reject this?

I was thinking of Kristos at Epcot also. The show and music after it's done is weird. Some people clap, other's just stare.

The lady in Japan is Miyuki (sp?). Next trip I'm going to ask her to make a flying monkey and see her reaction. :animwink: Dragon's seem to be her special thing to make. Can't think of too many shows that seem too odd.

The Kristos is pretty weird. Especially the intro where they say "please welcome the newest visitors to this planet."

Another would have to be the first show they tried out with Lucky the Dinosaur at AK. Chester and Hester's antics were annoying, and they also sang "walk the dino" it was just so cheesy and bizaare.

After having your older sister force you to watch a promotional tape entitled,
"Barbie Birthday Party at Walt Disney World Epcot 1994" eight billion times when your nine, you quickly learn to realize that The Magical World of Barbie is easily the wierdest show ever to grace a Disney park, especially EPCOT.

Sometimes, I wake up at night in a cold sweat with those pulsating lyrics involuntary spewing from my mouth.
In Barbie's world, there's no limitations.
In Barbie's world, use your imagination,
and make your dreams come truuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue!:lookaroun

Lol, I'm embarassed to say I was a huge fan of that tape. Granted I was 7 years old, but still :hammer:

Flights of Wonder is an excellent show and not even close in weirdness to the strangest attraction on property (which also happens to be a bird show), The Enchanted Tiki Birds.

The weirdest 'show' I ever saw on Disney property was at Pleasure Island. There was this guy who would dance while spray painting pictures on these huge easels lined with paper. He would dance to Janet Jackson's "Black Cat", for example, and spray a huge black panther face.
My sister and I saw this guy in the early 90's, I'm guessing. We still copy his moves :lookaroun .

Examples: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dinosaurs LIVE, Barbie's Magical World, Mickey Mania Parade Etc.....And that is pretty much weird..
Ha!Ha! Was just looking through past trip photos - must have 30 shots of that parade!! There were some strange looking Mickey's in there. I'll have to post some.....

The Wonders of Flight show at the Animal Kingdom is one show that I don't understand why they have. The show is boring and it is very hot! I haven't seen it in a few trips and still believe the Animal Kingdom shows it.

I like flights of wonder too. I saw a very similar show at ZooAtlanta last week, which makes me want to see FOW again.

I have to admit that I liked Pocahontas too the one time I saw the show...

Unfortunately, I never got to see Disney World shows pre-1996 (except vicariously through Martin's videos), but since I've started visiting, the oddest shows were:
1. Tarzan Rocks! - A rock concert not featuring Phil Collins, but featuring the songs of Phil Collins as sung by a group of people I don't know and didn't care to hear. Painful and disjointed. Once was more than enough for this.
2. Lights, Motors, Action! - A sweaty, wasted hour of my life with cars I knew nothing about screeching around to supposedly fill in scenes for some vague movie set in some vague European city. The climax was about the most anticlimatic thing I've ever seen.
3. Under New Management - Or, let's do a loud dopey show with constantly arguing birds (even in the preshow!), and tiki gods blowing up annoying fowl (not a horrible thing when you think about it, but then he came back at the end).
And just so Disneyland doesn't feel left out:
Magic Kingdom Kabaret - I was transferring videos to DVD a few weeks ago and came across this painful show used to help celebrate Disneyland's 40th. People who could barely hold a tune sang badly written songs, and also insulted Disney fans by making fun of the Cast Member who knew such "obscure" songs as "Let's Get Together" and "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow." Painful, painful, painful.

I dont know if this would be considered strange, but in some ways it is. The living statues in Italy in Epcot. Some of the things they would do were cool and some were strange. Do they still have them?

Oh you beat me too it. I can't stand the Pocahontas show. I went and saw it cause one of my friends was an animal keeper in the show... she told me not to see it because it was bad, but I went anyway. I just kept sitting there thinking "what in the world am I watching?! Why don't I get up and leave?!" Seriously I was too dumbfounded to get up and walk out of that show.
