Um, yeah. I got nothing. Wait, I had a thought. Maybe they could make it a two-level ride and thus have a larger amount of square footage. Well, never mind.

To me, they could go a host of different directions and make a great ride. Or they could just shutter that ride and have a dead space.
Blank spaces are the worst kind of spaces. I say make the theater some sort of interactive experience. Dare I say close in style to millionaire and the american idol experience.
EDIT: another idea is to make it sci-fi zoo. Pack it with cool alien animatronics, IP or otherwise, and you got a hit!
EDIT 2: if going with sci fi zoo, include one of the stitch animatronics and a new alien from alien encounter animatronic as little tributes to what used to be there.

Yes! Something about the show space would lends itself well to a audience participation interactive type show and it's large enough to accommodate a walk thru alien zoo exhibit. I wish they'd consider it.

I've scoped this out earlier and got similar numbers:

SGE: 18.4k sqft / .42 acres
Snacks and shops: 9k sqft / .2 acres
Total: 27.4k sqft / .44 acres

Peter Pan: 13.5 sqft / .31 acres

So, yeah, you could have a repeat of one of the shortest and lowest capacity dark rides in that space. ;)

For comparison, Buzz is .55 acres.

Shouldn't the total of the two areas be ~ .62 acres?

So they have an ip that is forgotten. They could bring it back utilize the current theater. And sell a ton of merchandise as it has characters that fit small plastic almost star wars looking characters. And it fits the land.

I understand where you're coming from, but the interview was a great insight to management thinking at MK. And John did clarify to me personally, that it was said off-camera. BFP will be taking a hard hat tour of TSL today, and he had some pretty interesting info about TSL confirmed by Imagineers.

What I found interesting about this interview was that Dan seemed genuinely shocked that people don't think the Magic Kingdom food is great.

you also have
meet the Robinsons (prob screens with a omnimover) but Disney style not universal.
tomorrowland (I loved the movie but even though it flopped who wouldn't want to ride a "monorail" through that recruitment video)
miles from tomorrowland
big hero 6
a tron ride to take you from the arcade to the grid (this would explain the light cycles and the world of tron)
my pick... WALL-E
or get away form ip all together...

a ride that takes you into the future but is more of a travel destination advertisement.... "Join Delta on a trip to 2117, introductory packages will include ......" this would feel like the old Disney rides but belong in tomorrowland. I would make it a narrator with a great song. This would have the feeling of if you had wings or delta dreamflight. While a moving omnimover would be amazing.. with the footprint... Why not have a TON of monorail/subway style tubes that hold about 50 people (ADA compliant) where new tech screens could transport you. Basically the windows would be there but about 5 feet away would be the screen and would be your entire field of vision, I'm assuming the space restaurant will do something similar.

There's the acquisition of Fox so... Aliens!!

Or.. The Martian. It could be a book report of the movie where you see the astronaut stranded on Mars, trying to communicate with Earth, digging through bags of human excrement...

1. Meet The Robinsons: Great IP for a ride in my opinion.
2. Tomorrowland: I love the "commercial" and enjoy the whole movie. I know it bombed but it's fun.
3. Non-IP: Could do a "Home of the Future", such as from Ray Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles". A tour of a smart house where the house tries to get rid of you. This could be similar to Mystic Manor.

For any of the above, I would use a motion base platform/ride similar to Spiderman. Great range of motion and simulated speed/drops. Plus, it would be higher capacity. Even melding the 20K ride from TDS with this tech to have a fun tie-in and ride.

This is where the money for the abandoned theatre project has allegedly been diverted, not the monorail as speculated.
old news, and has been disproved in earlier threads :) thank god
page 187 is the start of the topic.
also if you get leaks, rumors etc please cite from where if its a website or news channel. IF its a cast member or bus driver let us know as well. We understand if you cant give the name that's understandable. BTW "we" is me plus the voices in my head I guess
