Well, Stitch's Great Escape is complete. They are now entering a Test & Adjust Phase. The only thing left to be done is the line cue, and adjusting props, etc. And for those AE fans, Skippy is still there, in all his glory, though he is wearing a GF suit, but his "clothes" could change before opening. And WDI still plans to open in late May.

Bill, thanks for the report!!!! Any word when Michael Eisner is scheduled to preview it?

Wow! Bill, if you have inside info on how to be a tester between April 24th and May 7th, please let me know! I can flash an annual pass at them :D

I've previewed soooo many new rides BEFORE their soft opening (except for Mickey's Philharmagic... believe me I tried, but my usual luck did not work on this one). The trick is to not look like a tourist and to have an attitude that you own the place. Usuallyu they allow cast members to preview attractions before their soft opening. Cast members just walk right in. My trick is to just follow a group of cast members as they enter the attraction, and just keep walking into the ride, without stopping, as if walking in like that is routine for you.

This has worked for me for every attraction, except Mickey's Philharmagic, since Splash Mountain.

That's great news! Can't wait to see how it turns out. It's nice there are refrences and legacies of AE.

BTW: How will this effect Timekeeper or even COP? If they permantly close or go seasonal, then tomorrowland will be nothing but long lines...Space Mountain, Speedway, Buzz, and Stich.

Argh! Couldn't COP be open year round, maybe every other day? Just to keep maintance maintained, and give the AA's a rest, but to still keep us happy?

Yeah... I assume that once Stitch opens, the Timekeeper & CoP will be open daily for crowd control reasons. :)

I know. I just rode COP in February. I am just saying I wonder who or whom that is responsible for COP's previous seasonal, now daily operation, may decide to keep COP daily when stitch opens, as to not go with seasonal again. As far as timekeeper goes, since they put it back to seasonal, and it appears that there isn't as much as a demand or attendance increase as there is for COP, timekeeper's future just doesn't look good right now. And it of course is still not clear what may happen to COP.

I'm glad I rode it, but when I saw for myself 3/4 or more of the theaters full, and people coming in waiting for the next show, it tells you that there is popularity in the ride.

I'm hoping for Carousel of Progress to stay open after Stitch's Great Escape opens. It deserves to! As for The Timekeeper, well, I see it staying open for about a month or two after Stitch opens, then going to seasonal, or maybe even worse, closed.:(

I sure hope so. CoP is such a great attraction, but I think something has to be done to keep it from becoming a museum piece. Otherwise, I fear it will be shuttered again.

I know this may seem like blasphemy to purists, but I think the 2nd and 3rd scenes have got to be changed. The jumps in time are just too far apart between the 3rd and 4th sequences. Maybe swap the 1920's and 1940's scenes out for 1950's and 1970's counterparts...or even move the 1940 scene to the second slot and add the 1970's.

I think one of the charms of the original was its kitsch value, not just in terms of laughing at old technology but at the set decoration and atmosphere of each time period. Changing some settings to those that are more familiar to modern guests could definitely make the attraction more appealing, so long as the attraction's overall feeling wasn't changed.

Any opinions?

Peter

I think CoP needs a rather large rehab. I think the audience part needs the most changes because its just so plain with those tacky aquistical tile cielings.

I think Time Keeper is fine the way it is. Just don't make it into a shop!:brick:

I personally LOVE Timekeeper. :)

Peter:

And CoP... well, personally, I still love it too. LOL. Yea, it could stand some updating, but adding in the 60s & 70s? Ugh. What are you going to do, paint it with flowers and be like the Brady Bunch? Oh boy. THAT would be kinda creepy.
