Oh good lord....for real? Whatever happened to the land's resurgence? Seemed pretty short lived.
The resurgence wasn't connected to this.

SGEs replacement is a TDO / WDI / Burbank project.

The lands "fixing up" is a locally driven project by passionate cast members and very local, concerned management. Their aim, remit, and scope is to fix what should work but doesn't, and to tart the place up. In a nutshell.

Do you think they will ever fix Space Mountain? The major refurb damaged 2 rides because the PeopleMover has never been the same since you can't see anything in SM. Space obviously needs complete track replacements but I also think it was better with limited visibility, floating object projections and cars with lights that you could watch from the queue.

That's the million (or several million) dollar question.

Now Uncle Phil is working his magic at DHS there is more of a chance. Maybe for the 50th (wishful thinking on my part)

Right now that plan is stalling.

From the 'Right Stuff' No Bucks, No Buck Rodgers... That's the thing about attraction redos they take money out of the stock repurchase pool.

On this years Stock Buybacks for example they spent 9 BILLION dollars, More than enough for a BLOODY NEW PARK and we can't even get SGE re-done or even themed back to it's original incarnation, That tells you Disney's priorities right there.

They will fix it the moment multiple structural engineers refuse to certify the latest patch job by the welding fairies as 'safe'. and then it will be offline for years.

Exactly, Walt would be turning over in his grave over this stock buyback crap. He would be using all the money he could get his hands on to build the next big great thing the world has never seen before.

I'd love to see Disney invest in the BUSINESS but yet from last quarter's earnings call which I covered, Disney is amping up stock buybacks, And NOT investing in the business like MLBAM which is the new streaming service, Disney announced their intention to NOT invest more in this platform. They think that they buy a tech asset and it just keeps producing money - tech requires CONSTANT investment to keep up with demand.

The stock buybacks are a way of legally bribing Wall St to overvalue DIS stock and indirectly Iger's pay package

Should we start taking bets on how long it stays "seasonal"? Will it sit closed for the year, two years? It doesn't seem like whoever is making the decisions for the Orlando parks wants to actually commit to anything. We keep hearing that something may replace something but then .... tumbleweeds blow by
