Stitch's Great Escape Glitches and Whatnot

Pardon my newbishness if there's a thread already about this or if I'm looking like a complete idiot by posting this.

On my very recent trip to WDW, I went to go see one of the figures of my childhood, Stitch, in Stitch's Great Escape. I noticed a ton, and I mean a ton, of audio glitches in the preshow (when the robot is talking). They weren't subtle skips either, but most people didn't seem to pick up on them. I thought it might have been intentional and I hadn't picked up on it, but it was consistent throughout the dialogue.

Once inside, the "scanners" were really malfunctioning. At least six of them popped back up during the course of the attraction. The CM was evaluating them throughout the beginning, leading me to believe that this has been a problem.

Has anyone else ever had this happen, or noticed this? I don't know if it was just a bad day for the attraction (it was a horrible day for the park in general, with the rain) or if this has been a consistent problem.

In all seriousness, the last time I did this I remember thinking it looked really rough. I don't remember the audio problems, but had some effects that wasn't working. I don't do it often, so I'm not exceptionally familiar of what should be the standard for it.

The attraction is in very poor condition these days from audio to lighting to special effects. Don't even get me started on the amount of rust, dust, hard water stain, and unknown slime covering most of the surfaces in those theaters. Pull out your phone's flashlight as your loading and you'll walk straight to the exit. Health hazard.

In general, maintenance and upkeep at Magic Kingdom really has hit a low point.

I feel like the audio glitches should at least be easy to fix...
Hahaha, you win.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I used to work at that (once again) worst attraction in Orlando.
The scanners popping up isn't at all unusual. I don't think I ever had it happen with six in one show, but I'm not shocked.
The preshow stuff is new, though. Aside from the occasional complete meltdown or one of Sarge's arms dieing, that room was usually alright.
Amusingly, there's an entire effect gone from the main show, where you're supposed to see Stitch's shadow running around above you, kind of like the Yeti shadow at Everest.

I guess my nostalgia goggles are the thing that makes me not hate SGE. I don't particularly like it, but when I was little I loved the movies and whatnot.

So could someone explain to the new guy what the problems are everyone has with it?

Let's see, beyond the maintenance issues...a character that I personally have always found annoying, the thought of some filthy alien belching in my face, an attraction that presents chaos and mayhem without any entertaining purpose beyond said mayhem, looking at a final image of a WDW scene that shows pleasant weather on any given rainy day. I'm certain that I have more, but I'm getting annoyed thinking about it all so I'll stop now.

It's an inferior overlay on what was a very unique and technically impressive attraction. While Alien Encounter confined the guest in restraints to induce feelings of terror and no escape, Stitch does the same thing but then belches and screams at the guest. It's the most obnoxious experience possible, and by focusing solely on his being a nasty little brat, it also completely fails to convey what's likeable about the Stitch character.

There's an excellent essay about the history and flaws of the attraction here:

I have never been on it, loved alien encounter and must admit after all the hate I have a morbid curiosity about it. I might go on it in November, my wife has said she will wait for me outside

It's awful because it is lacking in subastance and excitement for older teens and adults. Smaller kids either are not tall enough or get scared. The age is seems to be suitable for is 7 to 10 year olds and even then, some of them find it dumb. The preshows also build up excitement but the main show is a let down. The peak of anticipation and excitement is when they teleport in Stitch, it is all down hill from there.

Maintenance wise one theater has speakers that sound like they are ready to blow. Lots of seat issues.
