Stitch is just awful

20K has been closed for 11 years.....although the lagoon still existed up until early last year, the attraction has been gone for longer than most people can remember.
Most probably remember it being better than it actually was, as time tends to embellish memories.....the "bad" lessens, while the "good" grows.
I remember 20K as a child and I loved it. I'm sure my feelings would be different if as an adult I rode it. Same could be said of Mr Toad. That was my all time favorite as a kid. Then, the last time I rode it I was an adult and I could not for the life of me understand what I liked so much about that ride. But I will say this, despite the quality of these rides, they ingrained vivid, fond memories of my visit as a child. And for their time, they were very good theme park rides. Maybe not so much in todays age of technology. So 20K and Toad were great rides to me because of the memories I have of them. Regardless of any "embellishments". :D

So why can't people let memories be just that.....memories?

Instead of people complaining when Mr Toad is removed, why can't people step back and think "I have a lot of good memories of that attraction, I am glad I got to experience that" Instead of "I can't believe they are removing that ride for a Pooh attraction, this is crap, I am going to boycott and throw a fit"

Memories are great, we all have them......but we can hold on to our old memories, while creating new memories.

Well part of the reason might be that alot of people don't get to go to the parks as much as they would like to. I get to go usually twice a year for a total of about 15 to 16 days. So I'm not complaining at all, but alot of WDW fans just can't afford to go every year. They don't get as tired of attractions as other people do because they don't get to see them all that often. Sort of like the other day when you were upset that you weren't going to be able to get to WDW last weekend, I thought how terrible would it be to have ONE weekend without the parks  I'm just teasing, of course, but I think that most of the locals on these boards usually are in favor of any changes Disney proposes because they get to go to the parks so often, and yearly/semi-yearly fans are usually more skeptical about changes. And I'll be the first one to admit that I should be more open to changes in the parks (And to be honest, after seeing the wonderful job that has been done on Soarin', The Land rehab, and on EE that might be easier for me to do). But at the same time, I think it's hard for locals to understand why removing attractions can be hurtful to some people.

I watched Lilo and Stitch with high expectations since everyone seemed to love the movie. I came out pretty disappointed but i didnt hate the character. But after seeing him so overused I'm at the point where i cant stand him.

I agree. At the same time, I do like to see rides remain for their classic appeal. The new rides today will be the memories of my kids. In the end, it is a win - win. I guess it goes back to the reason we all ride rides like PoTC and HM over and over, visit after visit. And when you think of it, regardless of the ride, people WILL ride it. Whether Stitch or AE, people will check it out. :D
