Where I worked I swear the water was worse in both taste and smell. It was awful. Made WDW drinking fountain water taste good
Some water just sucks to drink. Ours isn't great so I filter it a little. Ice water at the restaurants at Disney is also good enough for me. If Disney was really trying to get you to buy stuff they wouldn't give you ice water for free - which tastes just fine.

Exactly. I think Dasani tastes worse than FL water so I never spend $3 even to buy water.

Ohhh dear... Another Disney is messing with the guests to get them to buy the expensive drinks and get their money grabbing profits thread. Thats the water. Thats why we load up on Mio water enhancers. The containers are small enough to carry with you and a couple of squirts in your water container after you fill up from the fountains and the Disney water tastes fine. Years ago we used to bring Kool Aid packets. The taste of the FL water hasnt changed in all the years weve been visiting.

At least in this part of the country it is my understanding that Dasani is Atlanta tap water.

That's because Dasani is just "filtered" tap water...we ship a case of Poland Spring water (only available in the NE) down the week before we arrive...(that's the ONLY water my family will drink) Problem solved!!
I learned long ago that if you let the water sit for a couple hours, the sulphur smell dissipates. Of course, that doesn't help if you're thirsty NOW... so just suck it up and buy a portable filter.

5 plus years ago I thought the FL water was DISGUSTING! We even brushed our teeth with bottled water while in Disney. Lately tho, it's gotten MUCH BETTER. Our last few times there I didn't notice anything off-putting at all

Yes, They have these at a lot of places around Disney. Some off the top of my head we have used are at:
Guest Relations at Magic
Outside Crystal Palace at Magic
Sci Fi Drive In at the Studios
Tune In Lounge at the Studios
Nomad Lounge at Animal
I'm sure they are others, those are just the ones we've used recently and I know are there.
