Does anyone else think that if Stich is added to Alien Encounter that the ride will be less scary?? Does anyone know if the storyline will change or if anything will look different??

I'm guessing that the "scariness" will be toned down a bit.

The storyline will also probable shift just a bit, to theme it more to the Galactic Federation from L&S rather than X-S Tech.

And of course, instead of a big ugly monster in the tube, you'll see Stitch.

Those are just my presumptions, however...;)

Not that it's really that big of a deal, but if alien encounter's theme is changed to do away with x-s tech what would become of the similarly themed x-s tech virtual reality ride at disney quest?

I don't know... but I think they should rename Tomorroland the Sci-Fi Fantasyland... They added Buzz a couple of years ago, which is obviously mainly for the younger crowd, and now this?!? Now don't get me wrong, I personally enjoy Buzz, but it's not something I would do over and over again. Yes, it replaced a slow ride, but changing Alien Encounter is just WRONG!!! It's the only 'non ride' attraction at MK that is meant for the older crowd. I love the theming to AE and hope that none of the ride changes, however, since they are going ahead with this, I propose that they only replace poor Skippy with Stitch... maybe this is all they're doing. That way they can sell Stitch stuffed animals around Tomorrowland instead of stuffed Skippies... LOL

I think the storyline will have to change if you add Stitch. It will probably be less scary unless you think that Stitch is scary. It will be interesting to see what they will do.

I personally don't think that changing AE to include Stitch will really change it much - I don't think that the show is at all scary, more like boring :snore: :snore: :snore:
If anything, it might make it funny which, imho, would be much better.

I think they could build a Stich ride all on its own. I thought the movie was hilarious and would love to see its own ride. Just level some more FL swamp and bingo there you go!

Yeah! I agree! I love AE. I'd hate to see it go, but I heard that somthing was happening. I heard from some website ( I DON'T REMEMBER WHERE!!!!:brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: ) that they will update AE somwhat, but no Stitch. Alhtough I heard that in the store that you go into after AE will have a Stitch character greeting area called "Stitch Encounter". Somthing to cheer kids up who went on AE and got scared. I don't know if this is true or not, but I think that it's a good idea.

It might be a hoot to see Stitch appear in the tube, break free, and terrorize everyone. The sensory effects could still be part of the story. It would still be fun for teens, but not as scary to the younger set.

The attraction has been controversial ever since it opened. It was only a matter of time before it changed, closed, or was re-themed. Hopefully, it will still be entertaining for the majority.

Wasn't one of the actors in AE accused of child molestation or child ography? Maybe they are trying to phase his character out of the show or something.

It should be pretty sweet! Probably it won't be as scary. Has it been confirmed yet? When is the rehab? Thanks!

Yes, the guy that plays Chairman Clench (I can't remember his name) was charged for some kind of child ography. I saw this on the news. As far as the stitch redo goes, even though I love Alien Encounter, I really feel that this will give it a breath of fresh air. It was only really scary the first time I went on it, and even though it was fun after that, it just lost that original element of surprise. Stitch will make the attraction go from "scary" to "funny", and "funny" has a lot more longevity. Only time will tell, but I'm not too worried...

Yes Jeffery Jones was accused of that and is Chairman Clench but about 10% of the people that experience the attraction know that and about 10% of those people know about the incident. So if that was the reason THAT IS VERY LAME.

I can only hope that the Stitch Encounter is a meet and greet following the attraction that would be perfect.

I also do not find the attraction scary but I do find it hillarious and one of the best parts of it is watching the reactions of the crowd. Always alot of smiles coming out of the exit of this one. But it looks like the smiles might be coming to an end.

Can't they put a "stitch encounter" somewhere else...AE is a great attraction, and doesn't need this big change. If this does happen, then they are in real danger of making Tomorrowland into a futuristic fantasy land:rolleyes: , I don't see how this helps them attract the so called "teenage thrill seekers" or the other thrill seekers for that matter (you know the ones looking for non-kiddie rides, which MK is somewhat lacking). In my opinion unless they find a way of including both the original AE and include Stitch, I find that this is a mistake. But hey, that just my opinion. :brick: :hammer: :lookaroun

AE is a great attraction. Here are my two cents on the idea of rehab.

The first time you ENCOUNTER AE, its surprising, thrilling, and to some... scary...BUT the second time, and the third, fourth and so on, I only ride it for tradition/and to see the crowds reaction.

This ride, although great, does not need to be in the MK. It really has no place here. Maybe it should move to FW in Epcot. It couldn't hurt being there, only help. The concept could change a little to a TESTING of a TRANSPORTATION DEVICE, and something goes wrong, then it would fit in FW just fine, and add a little extra to Epcot.

Stitch does deserve his place. There is so much hype over him, although i only opted to watch Lilo and Stitch once, that he is really popular. The concept could stay the same, being set in tomorrowland it would have to, but Have the skippy preshow and then move into the larger, more stitch themed room. Stitch comes in and the laughing begins. The kids would love this! The whole family would if done right. Stitch breaks out of the tube and runs havoc on the theater. He sneezes on you, breathes on you, tickles the back of your leg, and maybe creates a stink. I see nothing but smiles when FAMILIES leave those sensory rides. That is what i think a LOT of people forget when they say, it is an adult ride.
Walt built the MK to be a place where FAMILIES could spend a fun, safe day. I personally think if it is controversial for an entire family to ride (other than height restrictions) that it has no place in the MK. That is why Disney should venture out a little more in their other parks. Add PLENTY of thrills and chills to MGM, it needs 'em. This park BY ITSELF COULD SLAUGHTER Universal, if Disney would just listen to the public. The Magic Kingdom, even if it only had ONE RIDE and that ride was Its A Small World, could hold its own. This park is a park for MAGICAL MOMENTS, keep it magical, thats why its the busiest park. BUT SOUP UP THE OTHERS.... OK, I am off my soapbox.

p.s. - sorry for the long post.

You might be a little off on MGM single handedly taking over Universal Orlando  I have not been to kind to USF over the years but now it looks like Universal is trying to improve the park greatly by getting rid of the gosh awful Kongfrontation and probably replacing it with a cutting edge Mummy coaster. And Shrek 4-D should be a good one. And let's not forget IOA. Listen I am Disney all the way (except one day at Universal Orlando) and I love the family atmosphere but come on. UO is on the rise (not world takeovers but on the rise :animwink: ).

Lets think about it... We all know that Disney has the funds to add about 5 very well themed coasters to MGM. Make it more appealing and thrilling. A lot would say that is not in the Disney spirit, but they are rooted in the MK. Walt would be all for it, IF Disney does it the DISNEY WAY. These coasters still have the have that Imagineer touch with great storylines and incredible theming... There are SO many possibilities. I mean, if you just add ONE coaster a year to MGM, and not just old style stuff, but CUTTING EDGE. Put in a stealth/flying coaster, something UO doesn't have, put in a multidimensional... i mean, doing things like this would GREATLY pull that Teen generation towards MGM which is a DISNEY park... I am ALL for DISNEY beating UO in EVERY ASPECT! If you leave all current shows and rides in and just put in some more "STUDIOS/BACKLOT Attractions" and Coasters and THRILL RIDES like MIB, you are set... BUT i also think for EVERY E-ticket put in, and Family oriented ride should be implemented as well. SO MANY COME TO MIND... but this would keep it a FAMILY/DISNEY friendly park.

I agree! When the attraction first opened, it was AWESOME. I think my problem with it is the fact that you know everything that's going to happen after riding it so many times. BTW.. stitch? in that big tube? I thought he was small :veryconfu
