This is the new rear panel they're installing on the RTSs. The changes include LED lights in a vertical arrangement (versus standard bulbs in horizontal arrangment), and now instead of blank, it has the proper Disney Transport logo. Also, the hatch opens up on a top mounted hinge, just like the side flaps. Before, it would pop out, and then slide up.

Unfortunetly, I don't have any pictures of the Superbus. Quite frankly, I don't think it was worth taking pictures of. As for whether we have it anymore... due to very negative guest response, it no longer exists.

However, here is a picture of a Twin Coach. (Not a Disney one... but same bus.)

Hey Tyler you should goto volvo.com and check out the busses, I would call these the caddilac's of buses, but Volvo's are better than caddilac's.

Hi Tyler. You said it better than I! As I understand the situation, since NovaBus will be closing down both the Roswell, N.M. and Schenectady, N.Y. plants (its only plants in the USA), they will no longer be able to sell their buses in the USA without heavy import duties and/or quota restrictions. However they want to continue selling the low platform (kneeling) buses (Nova LFS) in the USA. Honda, Nissan, Toyota and others all have factories in the USA primarily so they can sell their cars in the USA without import restrictions. So the rumor is that NovaBus is going to open a new plant in New Mexico just before the other USA plants close for good. The new plant will be similar to the old Schenectady plant in that it will not built the buses from scratch but rather be a "final assembly" plant (i.e. they'll bolt in the seats or something like that). Also, they chose to stay in New Mexico because of the cheap labor market and corporate tax incentives offered by the state. Nothing set in stone yet. We'll have to wait and see.

Hrmmm... that's interesting news, I hadn't heard that. Currently, as it stands, if they do end up closing all the US plants, they can still import the bus, however, transit authorities that rely on government subsidies will not be allowed to purchase them. This means that only private organizations (Like Disney) would be able to. By having that finishing plant, they once again could do that. I just find it strange that they'd close both the Schenectady NY plant and the Roswell, NM plant, only to re-open a brand new plant also in NM. If I were them, I'd remain in NY... it's closer to the assembly plant in Quebec. I understand labor is perhaps cheaper in NM, but keep in mind, each bus would have to be shipped (ie: on a trailer) from Quebec to NM... and then from there driven or shipped again to it's final destination.

But *shrug* we shall see. Personally, if NovaBUS does pull out of the US, I see it as no big loss... The LFS bus (at least, the ones we got) are prone to quality control issues, and break down frequently.

(On a side note... "Kneeling" refers to the ability for the bus to lower its front suspension, providing less of a step to the ground... Both the RTS standard floor bus and the LFS low floor bus have kneeling capability, plus the LFS can tilt as well, meaning lowering both the front and rear doors)

That's not an LFS... It's a low floor bus... yes... but "LFS" refers to a specific model. (ie: You wouldn't go up to a Chevy Blazer, and call it an Explorer)

But if you want cool... this is one of my favorite Scania's. It's a Scania with Ciao Millennium low floor body. Note that European transit coaches typically have three doors.

Thats is extremely cool, the reason I said LFS is because thats what they compared it to. Sorry for the mixup. Im really bored thats why Im posting all the pictures of volvo busses, which are probably extremely expensive, but they are the #2 distributor of busses around the world.

As always, you are right on the mark. As you know the "old" buses had those "elevator" ramps that lifted wheelchairs into the bus. The "new" LFS buses tilt the entire bus to the right and "extend" a ramp to the curb. Having visited with folks confinded to a wheelchair, I like the LFS buses better. Sorry, if I got the terminolgy wrong. However, the "old" buses (RTS II) have more seating capacity.

Volvo the #2 distributor of busses world wide? I'm sorry... I just find that hard to believe. Must be a european thing. *shrug*
