Steakhouse?

Trying to decide which steakhouse to visit for a special occasion. We have free DDP which I want to use so no Swan/Dolphin, but I don't mind using two credits. We were leaning towards Yachtsman.

(Not sure why the end of my original post was previously cut off.)

Steakhouse on the DDP? I think Yachtsman will be your best bet.
If you wanted a good mix of options besides steak, California grill, Narccoossee's, and Jiko aren't terrible for steak lovers.

IMO STK is inconsistent and I think you would end up paying OOP for your sides (I could be wrong).
Le Cellier is just not up to standards with other steakhouses on property.

Another vote for Le Cellier. We always go because the steak is consistently very good and we've never had a bad meal there.

I've been to Jiko twice and California Grill twice. First time we ate at both, we had fantastic steaks, second time around we still enjoyed it, but can honestly say that it wasn't as good as our first time.

We had a great steak dinner at the Turf Club. Very relaxed, not busy at all, easy to get dinner reservation at any time you want. A little off the beaten path at Saratoga Springs but a nice boat ride if you are staying at PO or POFQ.

Believe Le Cellier is two credits and hard to get dining reservation, some people I know love it but have seen a lot of things saying it had gone downhill.

I’d go with narcoosees if I were you...

Both the “steakhouse” options are frankly not very good...but you get mostly the filet choice at all the other upper scale restaurants.

Jiko is fantastic and their steak is always interesting. Artists point offers steak, bison (my go to) and a lot of “steakhouse” Esque other entrees and sides.

And I would never eat at Narcoosees again and the YM is light-years better... So OP do what you want...

Agreed with Le Cellier... I can't imagine ever going back there...

Granted...we had a jackhole manager experience at narcoosees years ago and boycotted for about 10 years...but the food was fine.

Yachtmans is the most bland food you can find. It SHOULD be good...it just has consistently disappointed.

Someone else mentioned it, but Jiko's NY strip was heavenly. I've had a lot of fine steaks in a lot of fine places and it was exceptional. It was sourced from Snake River Farms, which also sources for The French Laundry. If you've ever read Thomas Keller's exacting method for sourcing food, that should mean something. Enjoy.

Thanks everyone. I don't know why the end of my original post got cut off, but I had been leaning towards Yachtsman so it's nice to see all those recommendations, especially since we'll be staying at the Boardwalk. We visited Le Cellier before it became a signature restaurant and enjoyed it very much, but I'd like to try something new. We've also been to CA Grill. I will check out Jiko as a second choice.

For American beef, it doesn't get much better than Snake River Farms... This is very true.

Have to disagree on everyone dissing Le Cellier. I have never had a bad meal there. They can even make my DW happy and she will only eat a well done steak. They manage to get all of the pink out of her steak and it is still juicy.

I would agree with you, in that I've never had a bad meal at Le Cellier. But my buddy Hockey89 would just say that I'm wrong, and who wants that?

I think my problem with le cellier is price related...it’s not a $50 entree quality steak...even when you reduce the mandatory Disney overcharge...it’s still way overpriced.

And the nutsos with the dining plan credits back then...fistfights over reservations in the glory days of right to left “free dining” nutritional orgies...

Typically I don’t bring up price because it doesn’t stick out that much.
