State of DD is causing me to start my vacation at US

Well you're one of the few then. While working in EPCOT I saw more belligerent drunks than I ever saw in my time at PI. And I spent plenty of nights at PI. The drunkness excuse of closing PI was a fabrication. Am I saying it didn't happen sometimes? No, but to say it was on the level where there were drunken slobs roaming DTD and corrupting the children is a complete fallacy.

And if people were bringing children into PI, then it's their own fault. There's a reason it was for adults.

I only set foot in PI once and that was to take pictures since it was the last weekend but I was actually talking about the wacky-tabacky drunks who would wander over to the Marketplace or would be at the bus stops. They were NOT fun.

I am sure I just get lucky at Epcot but I usually go on Friday nights and during the F&WF... I must get REALLY lucky. But I'm not complaining

Aren't the outdoor bars still there? If you saw anyone drunk while lugging their children around, then they got drunk out there and not in any club.

But the drunkeness isn't my point anyway... I don't care that PI closed since I am not planning on wasting precious vacation time on something I can do at home, AND with more people my age and who I can actually be friends with if I meet someone new.

The thing is a lot of people did spend their vacation time there and their time off of work there with people their age doing things they love and meeting new friends that they will have for lifetimes.:shrug:.to them it was not a waste of time at all.

CityWalk

In December I decided to go over and visit CityWalk for the first time in 8 years. I was blown away. US wins the nightlife scene hands down over Disney. It has such an electric atmosphere. I don't blame you at all.

I was a person who had fun in PI. For me it wasn't about getting drunk. I loved the comedy clubs and I love to dance!
I love the warm weather in FL. I never get to go out to a club without a jacket, purse etc. I took my key to the world, wore a tank top and had a great time with transportation provided!
I know WDW is for families, but I don't have one. I am a single woman who loves it anyway. I am sad that they closed the 'grown-up' part.

Thanks, I am sad they closed the only adults only option as well. Sometimes I think Disney forgets how many adults grew up with WDW and are still coming back year after year, its not just about the kids. PI is just the most glaring of the problems, lots of the new shows, parades, even rides are feared specifically for children with nothing really to hold an adults attention.

PI wasn't about the getting drunk for me either, in fact I don't know anyone who went out with the idea to get wasted. It was about a fun atmosphere and in the process having a few drinks with friends, family and like minded people.

I am very excited for CityWalk, it looks to me like US has really gotten it right.

Agree 100%!! When CW first opened, it was kind of a boring place. For a long time, PI really blew it away. But a few years ago, that really turned around. CW is awesome!!!

It's cool if the parks are open until midnight or later, I'm all for staying in the parks. But when they close by 10pm and there's nothing else to do, well, DTD was the place to go. I'm 26 y/o and going there to check out the clubs, etc was something to look forward to when the park hours sucked.
