Starting my countdown

I am so excited to be spending the next couple of months in Florida!!! YAY!!!! The countdown has begun to arrive there Mid May! 19 days in counting, and the countdown soon begins for the big 21! LOL

Well my paretns are starting to pull some stuff on me right now so I dont know if I am going to be there the whole summer . They keep adding these things for me to do and such, and do not think I have places to stay with while I am there. They dont know none of my friends down there so I am still trying to convince them. Does anyone have any advice. I know my rents are trying to do what is best for me , but if you understood my life I have been on a leash for all my 20 years......

Ummm...you're 20...going on 21...and let me guess...you're a single child?

Yes, I can understand where they are coming from (not that I'm a parent) but you need to just explain to them that you're going down for a great experience...you'll test the waters of being out on your own and you'll actually be able to "find the person you are" instead of the person that you "have to be." Just let them know that you will be safe...and if something happens to make you feel uncomfortable or "safe" that you'd always go home because you're not dumb and you know how to handle yourself.

Hey I'm 20 too and I know how it is with parents. At least they are considering letting you go. Mine would probably lock me in the basement so I couldn't leave! haha

See, I cut the strings early. I stayed in NYC after my first year at college only ever to return home for week visits. Now, upon graduation, there's no problem at all. In fact, I think they'd be freaked if I said I was coming home. They know something was REALLY wrong.

Alright no turning back now on the parents side *insert evil laugh here* I am going no matter how much they do not like it. They still have my brother here to take my place :lookaroun . But I embark tomorrow on what looks like is going to be a 14 hour drive with Rob from Houston to Orlando. The fun of it all. So I will chat with you guys when I am at a real appartment with real furniture, real internet, and people who i think some what care LOL jk. Until then have a great week....im out..until then.....
