It was one of the first music decisions we made, I'm really excited about it. Our harpist didn't have it in her repertoire, but just bought the sheetmusic for it and is learning it. :) I really wanted to have a pianist too, but I think just the harpist will be just fine.

Strings are beautiful and perfect for weddings!
Lauren had one for her wedding and it was a really special touch.

We kind of needed to stick to a "lighter" sound since there's no carpet or anything. With the marble floors/walls strings were definately our best option. We were afraid a piano would be too "echoy". We're a little concerned with how the DJ is going to be, but meh...it's a party so who cares.:D

I love harp music anyway - it's just enough without overpowering the wedding.

Our weekend really depends on the weather, since we're planning on spending it at the pool. I guess we'll see...
And you, Stephie?
I want a pool to go to too, that sounds fun!

Well, today is DF's bday so tomorrow I have tickets to take him to the Yankee Stadium Tour. Hopefully the weather holds up. Then Sunday is my East Coast bridal shower. :king: It was supposed to be a surprise (the where/what still is), but DF had them tell me because I was planning to do all of my "pre-trip" errands that day.

Sounds like a great weekend!
Enjoy it, Steph...especially the shower!
And Happy Birthday Adam!

Good morning....
We had a doozy of a storm last night - including water coming in around our basement window . Fortunately we were able to somewhat control the water, although this is an occasional issue we need to have addressed. We'll probably have to call a waterproofing specialist.:brick:
Hope everyone is well.

Ok, I have a "wedding etiquette" question for you ladies, Dot you may know since you just did all of this.

So, I have 2 college-aged cousins who are living with their parents this summer until they head to school (one actually just graduated highschool this year). We're sending out invites starting end of July into August.
Now I know "formal invite addressing ettiquette" says that children over 18 should get their own invitation, but do we really need to send 3 invitations to the same address?? :veryconfu

Sorry about the leak.

Drainage stinks around that area...the ground gets quickly saturated and then water fills up in the window well there, which then leaks around the window and into our laundry room. Fortunately there's a drain nearby, so we push the water toward it.
When we bought the house the basement was carpeted - after the first flood (which was worse), all of that got ripped up and pitched. We settled for painting the floor instead.
