Star Wars Weekends Autograph

My fiancee and I are going to attend Star Wars Weekends this weekend. We were wondering what time should we arrive to get in line for the autograph fastpass? And is that fastpass good for all celebrities or will we have to choose one? Can we bring in items to be signed i.e. poster, packaged toy? This will be our first Star Wars Weekend. :) Oh, also, any news on big figs for Star Wars Weekends?

The earlier the better! I've been trying for two years to get SWW fastpasses and they've been completely out before the park even opens. I've heard people camp out the night before to get them depending on the guest.

Ditto. The cm told us that people start lining up at 11 the night before. This year will be even worse since they are opening at 8 instead of 9.

The time you need to get there really depends on who you want to see. 1-2 hours prior to park opening is pretty close to the minimum time you will need to be in line for someone you have never heard of and that number grows from there. When Billie Dee Williams was there in 2010 I got in line at 3:00 AM and was the second to last person to get a guaranteed fast pass. For the guests appearing this yer the only one that really stands out as a possible midnight line up contender is Jake Lloyd. Ray park and Jeremy Bulloch are also quite popular but you might be able to get away with a 5-6 AM line up start time.

Master Yoda, thanks for the link, it was very informative. I guess I'll skip the autograph section, lol. Jake Lloyd will have a longer line than Ray Park?? From what I've read online, Jake Lloyd was pretty bitter with his time on Star Wars. Ray Park on the other hand seems to enjoy his roles as Darth Maul and Snake Eyes. Any info on character meet and greets? From what I gather, they rotate characters at random? Hopefully I'll get lucky and I get my picture taken with Storm Trooper Donald, since he's my favorite character. Now if they only made a Star Wars character of Tigger for my fiancee... :)

I agree with your opinion on Jake Lloyd. He has never struck me as the most fan friendly Star Wars celebrity. However, his appearances seem to be rather rare which make him a sought after commodity. I have seen Ray Park several times at SWW and the guy is a class act all the way. You will be hard pressed to find someone that appreciates their fans more.
The character meet n greets go on all day and there are quite a few of them. Most will rotate different characters out fairly frequently. The best thing to do is hit as many of them as you can when the parks first open. Waits of 30-45 minutes are pretty common by lunch time.

I met Jake Lloyd a couple of years ago during SWW. He was actually very pleasant; probably even too much. He took a long time to get through autographs, because he was really chatty. I think that Disney management even told him a couple of times to speed things up. That might've soured his mood for a little while though.

Ray Park was REALLY nice. He actually went pretty quick with doing his autographs. At one point, I think he even had time to do walk-ups; which hardly ever happens.

As far as who you might have to line up earlier for, I'd kinda like to know myself. I've been the past few years, and have lined at like 3 in the morning. And although Ray Park and Jeremy Bulloch are always there, and are the bigger names; the new guests might have some decent sized lines. I noticed that a lot of Episode I people are attending this year, and they haven't been before (at least not recently).

WDWMagic,
Thanks for the link. Do you know if Behind the Force will be about the whole Star Wars saga, or will it only be about the cartoon? Also, what is Celebrity Welcome at Sorcerer Hat Stage?

Yoda,
Yeah, I've heard of people saying Ray Park is a great guy and loves the fans. As far as seeing the characters, I'll get in line for them after going to the merchandise area and load up on different Donald Duck merchandise. :) Not sure if I'll hit as many characters as I can though. I don't feel like being tackled by security and banned for life on Disney property. :ROFLOL:

SRisons,
That's good that Jake Lloyd isn't bitter anymore. :) As for me getting in line for autographs, nope, lol. 3AM is too early for me. :snore: Do they pose for pictures at least? I know the HGTV people do.

How exactly do you get to hangout before transportation is running? I thought the mouse police shoo everyone away after the last bus stops for the night!

We drove in around 6:30 am each day the first weekend and there was no one at the parking gate and while I'm here I want to thank Master Yoda for his tips he gave me a couple of weeks ago. Your tips were right on the money and we got to do everything we planned. :sohappy: Thanks again. A big thanks to the cast and crew at the meet and greets as well it was really warm that weekend and they did an awesome job especially Ventress Ahsoka and Commander Cody

Good to hear everything worked out well. We were probably pulling in just behind you. We attended the first 2 Saturdays and arrived at about 6:45 each day. Things did seem a bit saner this year. I think opening that park between 7:30 and 8:00 really helped avoid that huge mob at the front of the park.

So it would seem that those of us who pay to fly down, stay at official DISNEY hotels are penalized for not having a car!?!

Why are general admission people getting there before resort guests?

I called the resort and was told the first bus does not run until at least 7:00 in the morning and takes 15 - 20 minutes to reach the park.

They should be running earlier than that as the official park opening is at 8:00 AM on SWW.

Thanks! It always amazes me how little some of the CM's know when you call. It didn't make sense to me, considering the popularity of the SWW. I felt like I got the canned "first bus runs one hour prior to opening" response even when I was specific about the autograph fastpass line.

You are so helpful, and it is appreciated!

If you are looking for autographs 6:30 is might not be early enough depending on who you are looking for.

We wanted Jeremy Bulloch's autograph. Short of trying to get a cab over, I don't know how to get there any earlier. And it is ludicrous to pay for a room and then sleep on the ground at the studio gates!

That is the price you pay for being a Star Wars fan.
