I hope Hyperspace Hoopla returns as well...

Looks like it has been retired. http://twitpic.com/dw8jnf

At the risk of losing my Doom & Gloom Card, I have Disney's back on this one. The show was a crowd control nightmare dominated the same costumed Cast Members week in and week out who got there early and "saved" standing room. Plus a ton of Equity performers, so it wasn't cheap. For that amount of money and effort, I expect more than the mostly recycled, cheesy, -chill inducing show they put on.

I really enjoyed the hoopla.

But it's life and stuff like this happens. Especially with this company. I'm just sad for all of the entertainment friends I have made it performed in the show…

But I'm left with one desperate question. What on earth are The life stylers going to do for three hours at the end of every afternoon instead of standing in front of the stage?

I have never seen DHS hit a phased closure for SWW, but the Star Wars sections of the park will be incredibly crowded.

What to do depends on you.

Personally, I do not bother with autographs anymore unless there is someone I really want to see. Autographs for the more popular personalities can require you getting in line 8 or more hours before the parks even open.

I like the shows such as Behind the Force, Stars of the Saga as well as the ones unique to a particular celebrity like "A Visit to the Maul."

Character photos are also a good bit of fun.

No mater what you do, you will want to get there at least 1/2 hour to an hour before rope drop and have a plan.

Wants to be a millionaire, Star Wars edition was fantastic. How the hell that I screw that up?

SWW also ate up a ton of labor dollars for the meet n greets. Many of those performers also did Hoopla. Any takers on whether or not the mng will see a bloodletting?

Thankfully, this is one thing I'm not going to miss. I remember signing my son up for the Padawan Mind challenge in 2012. The later show, about an hour before the Hoopla. Couldn't even get close enough to the stage to get good pictures of him due to all the off-duty cast members and lifestylers camped out for the show. This was the 12th running of the show (last day, last weekend), so I'm sure all these campers had seen it before multiple times.

Loved the show itself, that level of silliness is something I enjoy. But it had gotten very repetitive and the groupies made it pretty annoying for some of us. Look forward to seeing how the fireworks turn out this year.

So excited for the fireworks! Any report of what time the show will be? Hopefully they aren't waiting until 11 pm each night...so late...but with Fantasmic! at 9 and 10:30....

The best spot will be on the path from the boardwalk to the studios.
I don't really know my Stars Wars too well or the history of it with Lucas and what not but one person I know said he looked at them cutting the Hoopla as Disney actually taking care of the license and caring about the characters, I guess respecting the character integrity a little bit more. Honestly think about if there was a show like Hoopla but with the Disney characters, I feel like most people would complain that they were acting out of character and it was disrespectful to the brand. However, I don't know if what that person was saying it legit or not though. Just one theory from a fan. Atleast they're adding fireworks!

So happy there will be no hyperspace hoopla crap this year. I can't believe the update on WDWmagic front page calls it a "highlight" that thing is cringe worthy bad and helps ruin the SW brand.
I would say from all the years that it has ran and the fan reaction, it is a highlight for many. Obviously not for all.

As soon as I read the initial line of a "new nightly curtain call", I knew Hyperspace Hoopla was probably replaced. I have mixed feelings. It is a fun show, but last years was tired and kind of dull. I'd like to see a new creative show replace it. I did like the host characters though. They worked so well for the event.
