Star Wars-themed land coming to Disneyland Paris?

Before correcting someone's spelling make sure you know where that person lives and how the word is written there!

Rumour is written with 2 U's along with other words in UK English!!

Perfect reason that I quit correcting posts long ago ( I think it was long ago....). I don't spell worth a darn my own English language much less someone else's from another country. :ROFLOL:

1. There's only one u in rumor.
2. This is the right solution in the wrong place. Disney's Hollywood Studios needs it to combat Potter.
3. I thought Philippe Gas confirmed Star Tours 2 would have its European debut when Disneyland Paris turns 25.

1. Come to the UK and spell it properly...

2. Tell TDO that. EDLSCA would be paying for this, should it happen.

3. Star Tours 2 should be in Paris before 2017.

I don't see the similarity...

You know, internet rumours

Ah...well, that explains why I never heard of it.
Surprised that Alain at D&M got taken in by a fan rumor....

In the article he says that he checked with his moles. Taken that lately Monsieur Littaye sometimes sounds as attendible as Jim Hill...
But the people on DCP that started this voice, they're considered by their fellow forumists (is "forumist" a real word? sorry, i'm a stranger) attendible (they had a really good record with the Dreams! show). You know, kind of like you, Lee ;)

Except that the Monsters ride was based in fact.

Yes, I don't doubt it, the point i was trying to make is that, for a random foreigner guy like me, that looks at these things from distance, i know that you're a good source based on your "street cred", on how people react to your opinions and info. And i see something similar with this Engineer guy on DCP. I mean, from my PoV it just looks the same. It's, like, about faith, lol

Of course, i say this meaning no disrespect at all (sometimes i fear that, due to language and cultural gap, i can be perceived as rude), i've been a long time lurker, and i really enjoy your posts.

I'm gonna put some feelers out, try to find out if there's any truth to this thing.

That would be awesome. International collaboration, cool =)

By the way, the full batch of rumours that are being discussed beside Star Wars Land in Discoveryland, we should get Jack Sparrow PotC and some kind of plussing of Phantom Manor (i suppose the WDW Hitchhikers Ghosts FX) at the Disneyland Parc. And some kind of BIG overhaul at the Studios, including (drumroll) TSMM added to TSPL (hinted by Monsieur Gas himself in this interview ), a conversion of the Backlot Area (that right now features RnRC, the automibiles stunt show and the Armageddon lame special FX attraction and it's practically unthemed) to a Marvel Studio Area (with a de-aerosmithization of RnRC, a retheme of the stunt show, a repurposing of the lame Armageddon thing and some kind of new attraction), the conversion on the Animation Courtyard into Pixar Place (basically removing or retheming the carpets and putting a new show in the Animagique theatre), a longer Hollywood Boulevard, killing off the boring STT. All this capped by a new name for the park. The timeframe would be between 2014 and 2020. Sounds like heaven, but then i think back how many years it took for them to get a greenlight for the Ratatouille ride, and i figure out that, even if this plans are true, putting them in action, well, it's quite a different beast.

And this post wasn't supposed to be this long, sorry.

What I saw on this didn't sound all that impressive in terms of improving DHS if they were to do something like it. I read Star Tours II (DHS already has), Jedi Academy taking over the Captain EO theater (DHS already has, although perhaps an indoor version would be more elaborate), Mos Eisley Cantina taking over the Pizza Port (would be nice for DHS, to replace Backlot Express), and a shop (DHS already has). If they're gonna do a Star Wars mini-land at DHS, I'd want another attraction at least.

It never made any sense to me why they didn't make a Star Wars land in the first place. Of all the franchises in the history of this planet Star Wars is the most obvious to do it with (I would say Lord of the rings and Harry Potter are the next most obvious). But no Star Wars only gets one ride (albeit a good one) meanwhile that flop CARS gets like the biggest land in Disney history. :brick:

The Star Wars theme for Disney Land Paris Tomorrowland was one of the original concepts before they went with HG Wells/Jules Verne inspired "Discoveryland" it's seems strange that they'd convert it to Star Wars now, the pic on Disney and more is like 25 years by Tim Delaney

Space Mountain Death Star overlay would have been pretty boss. Whatever happened to Tim Delaney any way? Other than Steve Kirk he was like the best Imagineer ever.

I think it would improve the area aesthetically. However, I agree with you completely about another attraction (or 12 for the park).

Like a lot of former Imaginers he's gone in to business for himself, but I wonder if turning Living Seas in to Nemo and Friends had anything to do with his leaving

He was ushered out...oh, about two years ago now.
Like the Kirks, he now has his own design firm.

Man..."ushered out" is such a kind way to put that. Part of WDI's great 2009 purge would be more like it.

If they had built half of Delaney's conceptual work every park would have been better for it....never mind the cost.

It's really sad that so many talented Imagineers left or had to leave WDI in recent years. Especially Tim Delaney did a fantastic job on the original Discoveryland, unfortunately the theme was partly destroyed when Disney replaced Le Visionarium with Buzz. That attraction should have never been built there. There's a great interview with Tim Delaney on the Season Pass Podcast which can be found in the itunes store.

By the way what happened during 2009 at WDI? Why had so many Imagineers to leave?

As for all the rumours about Star Wars or the WDSP expansion, I have my doubts. Although ED SCA has about 250 mio Euros to spend over the next years, I can't see the Marvel makeover happen in the near future. The money will be used for the Ratatouille ride and maybe for TSMM. That would make sense, since TSPL opened two years ago. As long as there is no official announcement or concept art or actual construction, I continue to doubt it. After ToT opened, it was rumoured that Production Courtyard would get a Hollywood of the 50s makeover and it didn't happen until today. With the opening of TLM at DCA, it was rumoured that it could be built behind Fantasyland. That didn't happen either. At least Ratatouille turns into reality.
