Star Wars stuff?

Hi,

I'm going to Disney World this March (early March, before the rush) and I'm a Star Wars fan. So's my 9 yr old. I know there is Star Tours. I know there is a Jedi training show. Is there anything else Star Wars related? Is the show worth going to? I know you can have your kid sign up. You have to rush over first thing to sign up and then show up 30 minutes early to be in it. My son is a little shy, though, and I'm not sure if he wants to be in it. Is it worth watching without?

Is there anything else Star Wars related? What are the good shops for Star Wars / Disney stuff?

Thanks, and may the force be with you.

Every Friday/Saturday/Sunday from 5/15 till 6/14 is Star Wars Weekends. It's all about Star Wars. They are doing this every year now. Something to look into if you haven't already booked your trip yet.

I haven't been to Star Wars Weekends...but I really want to go next year...or maybe a long weekend this year....*Gives the wife sad puppy dog face*

I am...a huge fan of Star Wars...to the point that when we get our new house...I really want to convert the basement into a Star Wars themed Theater Room.

Outside of Star Wars Weekends, Star Tours and Jedi Training are it.

For merchandise, Tatooine Traders will be the place to go. The exclusive merchandise (eg something you cant get at your local Toys R Us) will consist mostly of Star Tours figures and ships, Build a Droid (if it is still there), build a lightsaber, t-shirts and various signed and framed art.

You can also find much of the same merchandise at Once Upon a Toy at Downtown Disney.

You can also find Star Wars related art work and big figures at Art of Disney.

Do you know what the price ranges are for the art work and signed items that you spoke of are? I may have to do some extra honey-do chores for the wife to butter her up enough to let me get some of these items.

Line drawings will be in the $30-$40 area, animation cells and be in the $200-$300 range, the small big figures are around $100, the big figures are typically sub $200 and paintings can go as high as several thousand.

Thanks guys. Someone got a carrying case or suitcase that they are using for X-wing Miniatures game and I'll have to look for one. Great game, but always better if carrying your ships in Darth Vader's head or something.

If you are talking about something like what is pictured below, it is highly doubtful that they would have one. To my knowledge, there are no "official" cases for the X-wing miniatures game. There are however a number of third parties making them.

Oh, I don't expect there to be any actual hobby stuff. It was more that I once saw someone post on FFG that they bought a kid's suitcase or something to use as a home made case.

I'm a Plano man as it's realistically priced.

Does anyone know if they sell the big figures on line? I too have a star wars crazed hubby and when we were there last time he liked the Disney figures dressed up as the star wars characters. We have looked on line but no luck. We are going back in Nov but if I can get one sooner for him I would like to, especially since this will be his first fathers day.

eBay would be my first stop if Disney is not selling it online.

Ebay will be your best source for out of production Big Figures (bring your big wallet:greedy:)

Yourdisneystore has a good selection, but again, bring your big wallet.

On occasion you can find them at The Disney Store, but the selection is very limited.

Your best option that I know of if the figure is still in the parks is to contact Walt Disney World Merchandise Guest Services/Mail Order. This will also work for pretty much any item sold in WDW.

Thank you both!
