Saw Gerrera. And yes, he was in the Clone Wars show, making him the first tv character to make the leap to the big screen (I think).
So to fully understand this movie you need to know the Clone Wars story? This is confusing. Let's stick to movies that are easy to see, please Disney. I don't have time to go back and watch tv shows!

Oh I have no idea what his role in the Clone Wars was. I just know he was a part of them (thanks news reports). I sort of just jumped into the movie and went with it.

I'm not even going to bother asking my parents if they followed along,.. since they both fell asleep. :banghead:

Uh, well, I think so? My mom was confused (from thinking that Transformers was Star Wars- more specifically, the SW movie we were in theaters to see- to
thinking that Cassian and Jyn survived
), so she's going to need to see it again.

The fact that your son remembers Poe makes me happy. I'm really hoping that he has a much larger role in Episode VIII (and finally interacts with Rey- we need the new trio to be an actual trio).
Oh he has the Poe themed lego sets- xwing fighter, Poe character.. the toy large Poe's x wing fighter, a model set of Poe's xwing fighter..and all of the episode 7 3.75" mini figures and other fighter stuff.
It would be impossible for him to forget lol. I think Poe may have even surpassed Luke in kiddo's admiration level.

You don't need to know anything of his character from Clone Wars. All you need to know is what the movie tells you: He was a rebel whose tactics were too extreme for some of the other rebels and so they parted ways and he once was a close friend of the protagonist's father.

What I meant was, I want to know. It sparked an interest, but it would be easier to just watch a movie and get the background instead of watching a TV series... I know that me watching a complete television series will never happen. I'm still 4 weeks behind on Survivor.

Ok I went and saw it again today and actually paid for the honor.

Saw it on an IMAX and it even impressed me more.

Where does it rank on my personal Star Wars films ranking?

1. A New Hope
2. Empire
3. Rogue One

Yes, better than Jedi in my opinion, and far and away better than the Lucas prequels.

On a different note, the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 got thunderous applause in my screening today.

I was thinking where to insert it into the Machete Order. (Take a machete to PM, toss it, order the rest in the best viewing order possible). My order would be.

1. ANH -- Definitive intro to SW. Luke destroys DS.
2. RO -- How were the plans acquired?
3. TESB -- What's the latest with Luke and the gang? Luke: Who's your daddy? Han frozen.
4. ATOC -- Flashback: Anakin has anger issues.
5. ROTS -- Emperor rises. Darth Vader comes on the scene.
6. ROTJ -- Flash forward: Han thawed and rescued. Luke struggles with dark side. Emperor and Vader die. DS II destroyed.
7. TFA -- Where's Luke? Who's Rey? Now it's the Solo family with dark side problems.

So just a few quick thoughts.

Yeah...the hype is real. Definitely in my top-3 favorite of all SW films. I do have a few questions that involve spoilers, and a couple minor nitpicks, but will save those for another time. I will certainly be seeing this one again on the big screen. Several scenes worth noting, but once again will wait until later when we can dig into more spoiler-related discussion. Star Wars is finally back the way it should be!

I have a half day of work on Friday, so I'm planning on spending the afternoon watching Moana and Rogue One. @Master Yoda, found a nearby theater that does the reserved seating, so I'm looking forward to having the 'ideal' spot :)

Yeah, saw it an an AMC in my hometown with reserved seating Thursday night. It was pretty much last minute. Looked up a 7pm showing and there was one lone seat mid-way back and in the center. Snagged it!

Here are my highlights of RO:

- Tarkin. Very good likeness.
- Red/Green Leaders. Totally unexpected yet welcomed addition.
- Hammerhead Corvette. Very cool scene.
- Dr Evazan and Ponda Baba. Nice additions, but how'd they survive the destruction of Jedha?
- Blue milk.
- Rebel watch tower on Yavin.
- Guardians of the Whills. Nice reference.
- K2-SO, funny one liners.
- Mouse, Gonk and Probe Droids! NICE!
- R2-D2 and C3PO. Liked seeing them in the movie but felt they could have placed them on the Tantive IV instead on Yavin.
- The Battle on and above Scarif. Amazing!
- Darth Vader. Yep. He kicked butt!
- Leia. Still on the fence about how she looked, but it was still cool none the less.

Re: #8. I really wish he would have survived!!! Don't know how it would have played out in the long run, but he was one of the best parts of the movie for me.

#13- I think that is the moment when my kid FINALLY realized what was going on..lol...too bad that light bulb didn't go on until the end.
