Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

The difference is Hagrid's can get better and more reliable. Unless there's a major change, MF ride will always be meh

What a strange reply. There's talk that the track of Hagrids is wearing out so either the track needs changing or the ride vehicles do (how true this is I don't know?). This is apparently one of the reasons why they initially were reducing the hours it was run after opening so they could monitor this more closely. If this is the case (hopefully it's not), then it will require a major change.

Of the two rides one was originally designed to have the ability to change, whilst the other wasn't. I'll leave you to guess which was which? And meh is surely down to opinion, though I thoroughly enjoyed both for very different reasons.

No, that isn't the current issue. Its a matter of getting the timing right with the launches and sppedramp so they can get it up to 11-12 trains reliable... currently is at 10... and during Thanksgiving week it ran park open to park close. The original issue was pressure on the wheels so the cars had to be slightly redesigned which is why there was no soft opening -- this was discovered 2 weeks before opening (hence the sudden stop of testing). In other words, the usual Intinamen stuff. As for changing... there's a difference between the ability and the actual happening. We know all about Disney and planned "phase 2" stuff (Plus, currently there's not much difference if you do something or do nothing other than getting an extra case. The path and options are 90% pre-determined)

So he comes onto the Star Destroyer with us?

...not with us. Already there. He's infiltrated the ranks disguised at a FO trooper.

Frankly, from what I’ve seen and heard about this attraction, Horizons and Journey into Imagination were more logistically cutting edge when they opened for their time period. Obviously, an attraction built in 2019 has more impressive tech, but considering that Horizons featured 54 AAs, two IMAX (“Omnimax”) screens, multiple levels, and a pick-your-own ending, that level of immersion and cut-no-corners approach has rarely been surpassed since then. Even Indy Jones uses painted flats, while Spider-Man and Potter rely on projections.

I would not consider Hagrid a failure. Pretty much everyone loves the ride. Universal underestimated how popular it was going to be. Galaxy's Edge is not a failure in my book, but there are some disappointing things about the land. It has the potential to be fantastic. Watching footage from Rise it looks amazing! The ride will really help the land.
Universal didn't underestimate the popularity. The were too aggressive with the opening date. The ride wasn't ready.

Smugglers Run can have new missions added, but the biggest improvement I'd like to see is flexibility on the sensitivity of pilot controls. That would help significantly. I would hope new missions allow for a pre-ride selection on sensitivity and more range of the experiences of the mission.

Yep, with wait times similar to pre-fastpass Tower of Terror, Pirates, Space Mountain, and the like. All stinky.

As a kid, I remember all of the E-tickets averaging 45-min waits during peak season (Presidents Week).

Remember, people who don’t like something (for whatever reason they concoct), will repeat this over and over and over in hopes that by mere repetition, others will believe them, thereby making themselves feel validated (in some bizarre psychological way).

FOP over falcon I agree, as would most people.. but no re-ride value? It's a video game, there's plenty of re-ride value.

Unlike Buzz or TSMM where the score is front and center and you can see an obvious connection between what you do and your score, MFSR doesn’t have an “arcade” appeal for the vast amount of riders. After a couple of times running an errand in the dark to get some cans, I was over it. FOP, like all classic attractions, is endlessly entertaining.

MFSR, like Batuu, suffers from once you get your photos in front of the Falcon, at the chess table, and in the cockpit, there isn’t a great desire to return.

Agreed. Although I would further argue that in my opinion Horizons has never been surpassed by any ride through attraction with respect to ambition, scale, scope, and quality all these years later. As you said, tech has improved considerably since then, but Horizons brought out all the stops and was a technical marvel in its time.

It stinks. I would rather ride Flight of Passage any day over Falcon.
There isn't much re-ride value for Falcon.
Yes. Let us start comparing the secondary rides in various lands to resort-wide headliners!

I prefer Tower of Terror to Navi River Journey!
I like Splash Mountain more than Triceratop Spin!
Ooh, Festival of the Lion King is a wayyyy better show than O’Canada!
How about Everest > Alien Saucer Spin?

I get that MFSR had a large budget and has disappointed some, but let’s not run around comparing it to massive E-ticket rides. ROTR is the headliner—MFSR is the opening act.
