News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

There's no standby line.
Virtual queue this morning sold out for the entire day sometime between 8:30 -9:00. Which means that's it for the day.
Is this still the case? We are going in March and plan to go to HS on a Sunday morning (in March) when the park opens at 9. What time would you suggest getting to the park in order to get into a boarding group for the day?

It’s still only virtual queue right now, there’s no way of telling how long it’ll last. Assuming the park opens at 9 (keep an eye on changes as you get closer) you should aim to be in the park before the posted open time when the groups unlock on MDE. Right now 30-45 mins before park open is plenty of time to get through.

Yeah, I walked out of my car 30 minutes prior to park open and was in the park next to Starbucks with 15 minutes left until the trial of the boarding groups opened. It will take longer if you have to bag check though, as that line was huge! I left my bag in the car to skip that line, snagged a boarding group, hightailed it over to RnR, then strolled back out to the car to get my bag. Of course there wasn’t a line at that point anymore so I just sped right back into the park.

I saw a story on AllEars (link below) that ROTR will now be available during evening EMH in March...……….trying to understand how this will work? Does this mean the ride will be switching to FP+/standby by then? If not, will Disney reserve some BG's just for evening EMH? Will it just be standby only? Love to hear any thoughts or insider knowledge...………….

More than likely it will just mean operating hours and BG calling will run later. Right now they basically stop calling groups 2hrs before close. So in an EMH situation where EMH is 8pm-10pm... last BG call would be 8pm instead of 6pm. Someone with a BG would likely still be allowed to ride, even if they aren't an EMH guest.

That would be my guess... for simplest path.

MMRR scheduled to open March 4. No info about VQ or FP+ yet, but would there possibly be 2 attractions for Boarding Groups? Will Rise come off being a VQ then? Wait and see.

Arriving HS on 2/3. Posted hours 9:00 am - 8:00 pm. What's the feeling out there - will they change the opening to 7:00 or 8:00 am?

I think the adjustments to EMH in Feb a couple weeks ago is probably all they are going to do. Anything is possible, but I think that a Monday in early feb will stay at 9am.

Given that Disney explicitly said RotR would not be included in EMH for now and has made no official statement changing that policy, I would take anything in a fan blog that says otherwise with an Everest-sized grain of salt.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but does everyone in your party need to be in the park to be added to a boarding group, or can it be like fastpasses where one person can book for everyone?

I really want to get on this ride, but there is no way my wife is waking up at 6am on vacation.

I was just about to ask this! There is no way my group is waking up super early to get a chance to ride this haha

I agree -- I doubt they're making any definitive plans for March yet, when they haven't even updated operating hours at HS past February 1st!

Everyone that wishes to get a boarding group needs to have pasted the gates into the parks that day. 1 person can book all the people on their phone, but will get an error if someone in the group hasn't entered the park yet.

This question gets asked almost every other page of this thread. :p Yes, everyone must have scanned their MagicBand or ticket at the DHS gates before they can be added to a boarding group, so all members of your party will need to be in the park.

This site seems a little clickbaity, so it's likely theyre not basing this on actual knowledge.

EDIT: sounds like the site is legit, but the article still seems like it was written quickly to make a few bucks. The news they were trying to break was that EMH continues til March, but it was likely written by someone who assumes ROTR is available at EMH.
