What are the chances that Disney pulls a IOA/Hagrids and starts scheduling the ride to close early (or maybe close for full days) maybe after the busy Holiday period to give them more time to test and fix these issues?

According to thrill-data.com (who must be scraping the boarding party numbers from Disney), today (green) started better than yesterday (red), but not as good as Thursday (blue). But then it really started having issues around 4pm. (Note that the y-axis is labeled “Wait in Minutes” but it really is boarding party number)

So, assuming each boarding group has the same number of people, they've pushed fewer people through each day the ride has been open?
Well, fewer groups. But there weren’t re-rides day 1. Also, they had extra help to minimize downtime opening day. Notice downtime has lasted longer yesterday and today. Only actually ran about 7 hours today. It processes guests well when it’s open.

So who’s going tomorrow and what’s your gameplay?

As a non resort guest I’m thinking of arriving by 7am, which I think is the sweet spot.

Only have to wait 1 hour to enter. MAYBE they let you in a bit early, and if other non hotel guests arrive, hopefully you are near the front of those so I can snag an early morning Boarding Pass AND use my FP (that I got) and get the heck home and relax for remainder of the day (which was my plan if I got on the ride tonight).

Posted in the Grand Floridian Lobby.

So assuming they don’t change anything and go by this sign (same one posted at Poly), the system doesn’t go LIVE until 8am.

Where do they have non hotel guests hangout prior to opening when EMH are going on?

Was thinking of getting there at 7am myself

So your boarding group stays in tact even when you leave the park? That seems like a mistake Disney wouldn't make. They should want to keep you hostage all day knowing you will buy more if stuck in DHS waiting all day to ride Rise.
I actually heard CM’s almost encouraging guests that they could go to another park (or anywhere) while riding out the downtime. All of the CM’s today were outstanding.

I'll second the message about the CM's throughout every part of it. Each of the attraction cast members did a brilliant job staying in character to their roles in the show whether they were Resistance or First Order. They all nailed it which really added to the overall experience of an absolutely amazing attraction. All of the CM's out front dealing with the arrivals and the questions when things went sideways were amazingly patient with guests who were not always understanding or reasonable.

When the attraction had it's stops (I got caught in 3 of them including 2 Evac's) they were bringing the key available characters of Rey, Chewbaca and Vi through the queue to meet with guests and at one time they even sent a PhotoPass photographer along for photos. During the first long one I had (over 1 hour in the first stopped location) they came by with bananas and then chips and then water and then chocolate chip cookies. Yes, the wait in line wasn't exactly pleasant for that long (I'm way too old for this) but they were doing the best they could to make it a more tolerable experience and I can't ask for or expect anything more than that.

As for the attraction itself, I had chosen to avoid any video of anything before my first ride experience and I'm glad I did since no video can possible do justice to the immense scale and the epic feeling of being in the space as the story unfolds. After all the trials and tribulations I ended up having the opportunity to complete 3 full runs and 2 partial runs (up through hangar bay and then evacuated). I arrived at 5:00AM and my initial boarding group was 11 and then through a series of likely unreproducible conditions I ended up pulling off 3 rides so I really got a change to get familiar with the whole thing including once through what will eventually become the FastPass line. I believe it sets a whole new bar for scale and detail. It is not a thrill ride, nor was it ever intended to be. I see it as a next generation dark ride set in the Star Wars universe and they pulled it off brilliantly.

Now I sleep after 16 hours in lines today.

so it seems like it’s gone down in the morning on the first rides each day or is that a coincidence?
