I believe it opened at 8 am (I was using 9, but stand corrected; it was closed before 8 as far as I know since it shut down very quickly). Now they are up to group 54. 5400 in 4.66 hours would be 1150 now.

From @wdwmagic earlier in this thread - Time noted as 6:36AM...

Currently boarding groups 10-12

It does seem to be going much more quickly now, but I assumed if they were boarding groups 10-12 @ 6:36AM, they must of opened at 6AM.

The difficulty in estimating is they don't do one group at a time--they allow a collection of ~1000 guests to enter at a time. If they get through 154 groups by closing time, we will have a good estimate of overall ridership. It does seem to have hit a stride (for now). Fingers crossed it stays reliable.

Agreed, they seem to be doing well now, hopefully they have no more hiccups and get through all 154 groups. Though I'm guessing some in the later groups may not show, if so it would be nice if they open it up to standby the last few hours.

They've added more groups based upon how things are progressing. Ideally, there would have been weeks of testing to collect data on ridership. Instead, they are collecting these data now.

The other thing the virtual queue can do is limit each person to only riding it once today, thus allowing more unique guests to experience it. With other systems, you could get back in line again. Of course, if they've opened the virtual queue back up, then people could be reentering.

You would think right, but in the other thread somebody apparently rode it 4 times...
Ride number four now... Woohoo!

@BoarderPhreak was asked, but never came back to explain how he was able to accomplish this.

I will create a thread in the general forum for you on the ride.
Thank you...but not necessary

Word will be out soon enough. I believe a ride through was posted on this very forum already?

I’m really interested to find where the “middle road” opinions are on this?

I know what the anti-disers and sycophants who call everything they pay for an “experience” are gonna say...

It’s like predicting last years World Series 😂

At this point I will probably just blow them off. We do have a droid depot reservation, so I will have to figure that out. I am assuming you are not allowed in and out to go make your fast passes, I moved them around, so if we can ride within 4 hours of park opening it will work with only blowing off one. It would have just been nice if they would have said something ahead of time, and if you knew if ROTR was going to be open for extra magic hours or not since they said it would not be and now it is, and if you knew exactly how this boarding pass thing works.

It was used back in August. It is working exactly the same except it’s for a ride not the whole land.

I suspect the “middle road” opinion will be that’s its cool, but where are Darth Vader, Han Solo, and Princess Leia? That was the general public’s reaction to SWGE.

It’s the 2019 version of “where are the characters?” when EPCOT Center opened, or “where are the pirates?” for the MK.

Disney fixed both of those issues. Let’s see what they do with SWGE.
