Looking for some advice. First time ever attempting to get a boarding group. We have a reservation for DHS on Sunday. We live about an hour and a half away now. Should we just wait and try for the 1 p.m.?
Don't really want to get there incredibly early and not get a position. And also don't want to wait at home and actually get one and not make it in time. I know, first world problems....
But thoughts on strategy?

If you wait at home until 7 and actually get a group, that is still an hour before park open so you would have plenty of time to make the 90 minute drive and arrive well within the window for boarding even if you are in the first group and groups begin to be called at 8am. Given the history of when groups are actually called, I think you would be fine.

edit: Just noticed DHS opens at 9am on Sunday. That gives you an even bigger window to get to the park.

Today is the first time I haven't been able to get on! Dam! So disappointed! Logged on at 7 no wifi, clicked exactly at the time. Dam dam dam! Oh well!
It’s aggravating! At least the one time I wasn’t able to get a boarding group, it was a day where the ride opened very late in the day. Ended up with group 44 today. Not as good as the past few times but it allows me to take my time getting to the park.

I've missed out the last two mornings I've tried (this morning and earlier in the week). Just practicing for our August trip, but I hope I get it figured out. It used to be so much easier!
I agree it was easier before rushing into the park was stressful but at least the number of pool of people was smaller.

Yep. I have only ever practiced, but I found it much easier to get through the process back when people had to at least tap in first.

Dh and I went for the AP previews in August, 2019, and then had our follow-up family trip scheduled for April/May, 2020 (darn pandemic). Anyway, it's August or bust now.
