News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Backup boarding groups were gone today at 9:21am. The first backup group 63.

First group called this morning was 2.

We were just called at 9:44, 2 hour window. We just went back to the car to grab bags and a sweatshirt then we’ll make our way over. It’s a chilly morning relatively speaking.

At Hollywood studios this morning with an out of state friend and this is our one park day. Had her try Demarke and I stuck with my open from scratch (FWIW she has AT&T).

Both had mishaps, “join boarding group” was available for both right at 8. The only problem was none of her friends showed. When my app loaded, I was once again not at the top of my list. That’s a few times that’s happened now so not sure whats going on.

I told her just to get herself a group as I reloaded my app. She got 31, I ended up with 83 after getting the red error. We were first in line at guest services and had them move me but phew that was a bit of a mess today!

Yeah my faith in the app or “system” was shaken after last week. I essentially took it for granted I would not have an issue (relatively new phone, good cell signal, no real MDE issues when booking FP or meals).

Now I’m semi-deathly afraid of not having at least 1 person back me up (hence my insistence of standing on line for GET automatically as I enter the park).

Current plan is for both weekend days, daughter and I (knock on wood)

It was a bit scary considering I’ve hyped the ride and she knows my prior success lol. I’m just glad she had a decent number by herself even after we stalled a bit while I was looking at her app with no friends and mine without me and had a good few seconds of panic

The final initial boarding group (62) was called at 12:11pm. Backup groups about to start being called!

A bit of a rocky start with 2 substantial pauses, one lasting about 30 minutes and the other about 50 minutes.

I’m guessing the pause at group 28 was the 30 mins. When was 50?

Waiting in line at MMRR and I keep refreshing boarding passes hoping that somehow some might become available. I say again, I HATE these boarding groups!! Parked in the lot and there are tons of empty spaces from what I assume were people who came here wicked early and then left when they got their passes. Have I mentioned I hate the boarding groups????

2pm - after about 80 minutes of no groups being called, groups started moving again roughly 5 minutes ago with group 66.

I really hope they dumped the queue for that. We were stuck in there for about 45 minutes and it was awful. I cannot imagine being in that cave for twice that length of time!
