Bypassing any part of an attraction is definitely NOT the solution. Disney should have had the forethought to devise a way to show this part of the attraction without having to skip it when it isn't functioning properly... It's why B-mode exists. Granted, Disney can't fix all problems and they've done a fair job of devising B-mode solutions when parts of RotR fail.

But this one is alarming because it shortens runtime affecting not only show but the storytelling intro for the main attraction. Kinda Shocked.

I agree the Resistance Transport is a total integral part of the ride BUT Disney is in a no win situation when it comes to that. Most people want to get on the ride and if the rest is working properly, most people would not want to wait or not ride at all (taking general audience who don’t know any better). Why cause a major disruption to thousands of your guests when only a small portion would potentially complain ? Far easier to deal with a small portion.

What has been refreshing/nice is that any of the reported issues that have occurred seemed to have been fixed same or next day.

This ride has so many different parts to it, the maintenance budget/staff has gotta be massive. I just pray with TDO’s subpar track record of keeping attractions in working order, this doesn’t become something that is neglected over time.

That's what my son did yesterday when we got 30.

Yeah, it’s a strategy that’s been “tested” by several people over on Touring Plans. I use the term loosely, since it’s probably highly subjective.

You are correct that TP does not do that. It simply has a bot that checks on a scheduled rotation for the reservations that you are looking for. You can do the same thing if you open up the disney dining page and just keep looking randomly. I do both. Sometimes I beat them to it but other times I get the text.

Either way, they don't actually reserve anything.

TP uses a team of real people based out in the Far East somewhere.

No bots used. And nothing is booked, it simply sends out a text and/or email to everyone wanting that particular reservation.

Frankly, I was waiting for them to start doing this and it just sickens me.

My line was not using fingerprints this morning either.

when we were there last week, one of the days, maybe Thursday, the Tapstile I went to had no fingerprint scan and the one my wife went to, directly in front of it on the same concrete curb, did. So it seems it is not totally coordinated.

The legacy system. It was wonderful to use again.

Paid and hotel suite options are available too

We were there in May and it was a nice flashback to the good old days. But I guess they will have no shortage of spare parts or whole machines to use!

Before you get sick, we should probably understand who "them" is, and other things like whether it was a short term decision made by someone, who was then overridden quickly by the higher ups.... Do we even know if they are still running it without this scene?

I sure hope you’re right. Because if this becomes the new normal, people will accept it.

Is there a place we can see how fast the boarding groups are all distributed each day?

Touring Plans is also tracking day by day. They use a graph and spreadsheet to try and keep everyone happy lol!

I think the forum thread is updated more frequently than the blog.

No I didn't misremember. Since we had made it past that point the first time I was disappointed but was like alright whatever. I felt bad for the lady in front of me. Who was child swapping and had never ridden the ride. She doesn't even know that she missed part. They let us stand in the hanger for a bit to take pictures. I think the cast was feeling bad that we were only getting part of the ride.

This person on Twitter has reported the same thing except I think they never got to see the preshow.

Great, this is exactly what I was scared was going to happen...they better stop this.

I’m just concerned this could become the new normal...they can’t let that happen. The entire experience is being bypassed. Rise is an experience not a ride.

This was literally a few hours for one day - let's not jump to the doom and gloom. Remember just a couple weeks ago they had a couple reports of people queuing in an area they absolutely shouldn't be.

Have you heard more reports of that since then? I haven't.

considering how eager Disney is willing to talk about the full experience, it honestly kinda is doom and gloom. the ride should absolutely 101 if you are forced to go backstage in order to ride an attraction.

I don't disagree that the ride should have remained open if this was going to be the option to keep it going. However, I highly doubt this would become "the new normal".

I agree, but when people raise concerns like this, ops will make sure it doesn’t happen again.
