I will be in town starting tomorrow... was planning on waiting until Tue to attempt it, but my family wants to give it a shot Saturday as well. What time are you thinking of arriving Sat if you go for it?
I live about 15 mins away but my parents will be in town this weekend and they're down to try as well. I think I'd try and be there between 6/6:30??

If people were waiting in lines for other rides while waiting for their Rise VQ, wouldn’t those lines be longer than normal??

I mean, Smuggler’s was regularly past 100 last week. Admittedly, Thanksgiving. It was at 90 for a very short while today.
80 mins for ToT and 70 for Slinky doesn't exactly scream quiet.

The people that received boarding passes most likely have been up since 2-4am last night. Nearly 100 groups have loaded now. You really think they wanna hang around and continue to mosey through the park they have been at for 12 hours on such little sleep?
This. I rode my ROTR rides and got the heck outta Dodge. Went back to the resort and slept for 3-4 hours.

OOf, I wasn't expecting so much pushback. As someone who's been visiting for the past two weeks, it's just been very very strange. The scenarios are obviously very different with Thanksgiving, but today has seriously been one of the easiest days to do Studios, besides yesterday where it was dead virtually all day. If you put me on Sunset Boulevard right now, I'd have no idea a new attraction just opened.

I think this makes the most sense. Virtual Queue has created a really nice luxury, and it seems like it'd be a great idea to leave. We haven't yet, though, and I'm not sure how many vacationers would want to if they're not passholders or anything.

I think the VQ might have been a mess if it was employed last week though, for example. If it only took us about 30 minutes to get on after we used our VQ, then it's really not eating up that many people, isn't it?

Compared to what?

Signs all over WDW told people the new ride was full early in the morning, so who was expecting the ten hour lines?

I think just compared to the holidays and busy season. I know early December is supposed to be slow, but I think a lot of us were expecting a jam-packed day. Then again, I didn't get to come down for the opening of Smuggler's Run, so I'm not sure how this compares to that.

ALSO: I heard from another person in the line that Guest Experience told them that they expect to use VQ today and tomorrow. Not exactly a reliable source, and I would be very shocked if they didn't use VQ Saturday, but don't be shocked if it isn't here come Monday.

Despite the overwhelming positive feedback from those who have experienced the attraction, and maintenance mishaps on opening day being far less than what was feared for a premature grand opening, I'm curious how the usual "anti-everything Disney Star Wars" YouTubers such as Geeks and Gamers will try to spin todays events.

Without looking, I'm guessing it's gonna go something like:
Ride was a total flop, down 100-percent of the time, and guests were literally kicked in the shin by Kathleen Kennedy upon exiting.

They'll probably find some stuff to complain about like the screens. Rise is incredible, but they always find a way.

Local news has been up there all day. Not sure what they are expecting to see with boarding groups in place. Seems a waste of fuel.

The local news is also covering this ride here in SoCal. Out running errands this afternoon and the local LA news radio stations had reports on the ride, crowds, downtimes, etc. which is so funny considering it's a ride 2,500 miles from LA. 🤣

The local Orange County Register also just put this story up on their front page. https://www.ocregister.com/2019/12/...-on-opening-day-at-disneys-hollywood-studios/
