Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opening reports and using Boarding Groups at Disneyland

I have to disagree with you there. There is absolutely no increase in the rate at which they call boarding groups before they shut down the VQ. If there was you would see the graph jumping faster than any other time of the day, but you don't. They might give them 2 hours to come back, but they aren't calling "1-2 hours worth of BGs."

Hmmm... I was going mainly by reports of people finding the queue full with over an hour wait at the end of the day.

We could always take the first derivative of the curves to track the rate of change of calling BG#s. ;)

Cool graph, is there a site the produces that?

Well, glad I could contribute some laughter to your day.

I don't think anybody is "afraid." We're not talking about the Coronavirus here, but anybody hanging out and posting on Disney forums will be smart enough to know the odds when they see the how fast the BGs are eaten up, and see the very inconsistent number getting through every day.

If you're like me and require a lot of time and expense to go, there's every reason to wait and do something else this year instead.

I think you are living in fear of something you don't have to be scared of. You keep pointing to this vague group of people who are missing out. But they aren't here. If you want to get on the attraction, are willing to be there are park opening, and have more than one day at the parks.. you are all but certain to experience the ride.

Are many people not riding... yes... but that's because they are either ignorant of what to do, or simply not willing to go through the process. If riding the attraction is a 'must have' for your trip... it's easily accomplished.

Again, nobody is "scared" about this.

But, I'm telling you, to your average out-of-towner doing their homework, the current setup has "Yeah... I think we'll do that new Star Wars thing some other time..." written all over it.

Aaaaand...... we're back! Ride has reopened, now calling Boarding Group 97.

Never underestimate the power of prayer, or of Zenia.

I'm on the edge of my Eames lounge chair here! I'm not going to be able to start dinner until we get Boarding Group 104 called! Just hitting refresh again and again until we get there. @Ismael Flores, are your friends staged nearby in Star Wars Land to get into the queue the moment 104 is called? If they are over in Cars Land, get them out of there!

Your quote.. "nobody in their right mind is going to spend travel, lodging, food, and admission with those odds "

Yet, thousands do it daily and you don't hear the uproar. Who do we hear the uproar from? The ones who aren't even trying...

Do you have some data on how many of these thousands are paid, non-local guests?

Right about now is when people start finalizing spring break plans or penciling in their summer trips. They're the ones I'm talking about.

Getting 700 APs per hour to show up for a new ride was never going to be an issue.

Moving on to Boarding Group 105 and beyond. I'm finally exhaling.

I'm not really a smoker, but I keep a pack of Parliament cigarettes in the dining room credenza for dinner parties, just in case a smoker is on my guest list. I'm breaking open those Parliaments and going out onto the deck for a moment to get my nerves settled.
