What exactly were some of you people expecting?

For the amount of money and the amount of time they had, it's well done. For the nature of what they're doing, it's well done.

Were you people seriously expecting a fully armed and operational battle station in only three months?

Star Wars land will not open until 2019/2020. This is something for the here and now… And is infinitely better than what the frozen crowd got.

Does not change the fact that it's still crap, Why bother with the Cantina at all for crying out loud they did the 'rebel hangar' in 3 months - this was yet another exercise in 'how little can we do and still get away with it'. As such Disney deserves all the disdain we can heap on them.

You know what's funny?
You're confident Star Wars Land is 8 years away?

I remember reading on here that some of the higher ups were not happy with the originally planned time and they bumped up the schedule for TSL to be done around 2018 and Star Wars to be done around 2019 (or earlier). I did a search but can't seem to find where I read this as it was quote some time ago...Not sure if anyone can confirm as I am no insider.

This.

Its amazing how outlandish some of the expectations on this board have. I understand we all want the highest of quality in the shortest amount of time possible out of Disney but this actually looks quite fantastic. As far as the Cantina "issue", who cares? In a few years we will have a fully themed Cantina that will most likely blow your socks off.

Those are semantics that don't mean much at the end of the day.

Me? I've been out of contact with most of my people. There's very little new to report that Dan isn't finding with the permitting.

.... And at the end of the day? When this opens doesn't matter. I still need a break from these parks. If I have to wait three years until I return? So be it.

I'm mostly excited for the new movie. That will keep me busy until SWL opens.

Evidently, some do care about the "issue" and are entitled to care. Not that it makes any difference. What we see is what we get. I'm looking forward to finally seeing the fireworks though :). I'm not a huge Star Wars fan though, so this exhibit was never really for me. I hope the fans of the series find it worthwhile. I will admit it's an improvement over the dated Animation pavilion which was staler than a McDonald's burger bun.

Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm just stating mine. Just seems like expectations are through the roof for such small things like the launch bay. I get the high expectations for the expansions (Avatar, SWL, TSL) because they have such big implications. But this small little project? If anything its a place to cool off and roam.

I haven't looked into what the SW fireworks should be, but I'm assuming the SWW show

I can't agree with you more. What's a shame is that no matter what Disney does, some people just aren't going to be happy. They get upset when there's not enough to do, then they get upset because construction is going on, then once the construction is done, they're unhappy because in their opinion, Disney didn't do the job well enough.

People need to stop being so critical and start enjoying attractions more. I haven't been to this new attraction yet, but based on the pictures, it looks fantastic and it gets me excited to go see it.

Then the cycle repeats over and over.

I've seen so many people on this board complain about the lack of construction, then in the same thread about areas of the parks under construction. And it seems like every Disney fan has purposely just been so pessimistic about EVERYTHING Iger has done, not just in the parks but across the whole company. I swear some people act like Iger murdered their family in front of them.

It does get to be a bit ridiculous to read the negativity over and over. To each their own I guess.
