These people DO NOT LEARN. Their "strategy" of churning out SW content yearly led to bad content (I'm looking at you, Solo) and a loss of the "special event" nature that resulted in intense loyalty and attendant massive grosses.

As some folks like to say, when every day is Christmas, then no day is Christmas. I counted 9 new series announced for D+. Plus the Jenkins movie. That is asinine. Who in their right minds wants Christiansen back? Why are we getting a prequel origin story for a dude that was killed in Rogue One?

Kathleen Kennedy needs to go before she runs Star Wars into the ground and makes it common trash.

Ugh.

Yearly content didn't lead to what you described, a lack of cohesion and leadership led to that. Now have they learned from that? Who knows. But this can work if the series are good, work together, and don't try to one up each other.

This starts much higher than Kennedy, she's just the stooge following orders. This has Iger written all over it. He's the one that's flushing the franchise down the toilet to extract as much as he can out of it before it goes down the drain. He's doing the same thing with Marvel as well.

Solo is the perfect example of what should have been smash, but because of poor writing and poor leadership and the need to push out product at the expense of quality turned into a giant steaming turd. We're fresh on our way to having multiple ones of these, especially when they start cannibalizing each other for the more fragmented and diminished audience they will get.

No! Star Wars has always been a Tent pole franchise appealing to a very wide demographic. It’s what made it appealing to the masses and built its success as a franchise. Disney, through its desire to monetize every millimeter of the franchise has been fragmenting it. The results are mixed, especially considering its effects on the core trilogy. Now that everything Star Wars has been green lit and Disney Plus’d expect crap to be produced. This cycle happens all the time, it just repeats.

Lucasfilm quote "The story will introduce a new generation of starfighter pilots as they earn their wings and risk their lives in a boundary-pushing, high-speed thrill-ride, and move the saga into the future era of the galaxy."

Sounds like this takes place after the sequel trilogy. Also the Rangers series will be about the New Republic so shortly before the events of the Sequels. It's a healthy balance of OT era and ST era content. I see no reason why they should retheme Galaxies Edge beside your personal hatred towards TLJ.

There’s no direct (aka $$) incentive for Disney to retheme an attraction like ROTR to the OT. The demand and (virtual) lines will always far exceed its capacity for the many years to come.

Given that, I don’t think Disney will ever truly green light a retheme. It may be on the drawing boards as insiders have indicated before, but they’ll never follow through in the near future.

Then again, Disney is unpredictable these days with much-loved attractions..

They don't have to retheme the attractions any time soon, but I think it's plausible that they will open up the land from being rigidly set between TLJ and RoS to being more vague.

Beyond potentially revealing too much at once (which plagued the entire presentation, in my opinion), I have zero issues with what was announced.

They finally seem to be recognizing that what’s appealing about Star Wars is vastly different for different audiences, and instead of trying to please them all at once in a singular movie (see: the sequels), just roll out different projects that cater to their targets more efficiently, and let people engage a la carte with what they want to see.

The crazies (see: me) will watch it all, and casual fans will watch whatever draws them in. Between this and Marvel alone, it seems that for the next few years D+ will finally have enough new content coming to justify the service, and they don’t have to bet it all on a trilogy to keep the brand healthy.

As for the land’s future, Mando keeps marching forward in time and Ahsoka/Rangers of the New Republic/Rogue Squadron are all gonna introduce characters and ships that could feasibly be around circa Batuu’s timeline, so the options for updates have expanded quite a bit since yesterday.

My apologies, I'm so used to dealing with TLJ haters on here that I jumped to conclusions.

They just released the Star Wars Lego Holiday Special which featured the characters from the sequels. Just sayin’...

What is the source for that? I haven't seen much of any details about it. I assumed Rogue Squadron would be set during the timeframe of the OT.

Also, we don't really know the setting of the Waititi film or the Droids show AFAIK.

You know what happens between Obi-Wan and Vader between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope? NOTHING. THEY DO NOT MEET AGAIN UNTIL A NEW HOPE!!!!! If they meet up again before the Death Star duel I am done with Star Wars because that is stupid. There are certain parts of the lore you do not with and A NEW HOPE IS ONE OF THEM. Having a modern retcon to change the meaning of " a presence I've not felt since-" is beyond stupid and takes away from the importance of the Death Star duel. "when I left you I was but a learner, now I am the master" would make no sense if they meet again before this duel.

There is noooooooooo reason to have Hayden back. Anyone can be Vader in the suit but what makes Vader who he is, is DARTH VADER'S VOICE BY JAMES EARL JONES!!! If they are bringing in Hayden to be Vader's new voice I am done. If this is the stepping stone for them to go back and replace James Earl Jone's as VADER'S VOICE IN THE ORIGINAL FILMS FOR FUTURE RELEASES I AM DONE!!!!!! The obi wan show is pointless. "a lot can happen in 30 years that no one talks about or brings up again"

I was under the impression it will just be a PTSD Obi-Wan hanging out on Tatooine seeing visions of Anakin. I have no problem with that.

If it is Obi thinking back on his past with Anakin, that is fine. but if Vader comes to Tatooine and confronts Obi-Wan or if Obi-Wan goes off world and encounters Vader and they have a lightsaber duel that is soooooo stupid and undermines A New Hope which laid the ground work for the lore and the universe, then I am done with Star Wars for good.
