I am going to register and do it with integrity. I have two Kessel Run's so far. This one will be my third. I was not going to run Light Side this year because of the schedule being so close to WDW Marathon, so it works out for me. I actually like the design of the Virtual Half medal. Hopefully, Light Side will be back in 2020, or maybe they add or re-brand another race at WDW.

You started with quite some negativity around the virtual run and it's rather unfair. As I said before, there's not much to complain or rant about this run. Slightly easy but nice fix for the kessel run challenge problems.

I'm disliking the medal for the virtual one, but I strongly recognise the integrity you're talking about. This actually has me motivated to do some 21.1KMs one day (and without foto stops and crowded courses, it can be a disney PR!), upping my total of runDisney miles and getting an extra medal. I'm loving the kessel run challenge medal. So guess who's checking for april flights atm.

The design of the virtual medal is also on a t-shirt that we have seen in several stores this weekend at WDW. They are very popular as all that is left on the floor are S and M sizes at every store we have seen them at.

People at the expo reported that the virtual medal is made from metal (is has quite an plastic look to it), with a moveable x-wing. So that's getting slightly more interesting. The dislike for the medal is gone

I'm in. And I think I've convinced my racing partner for the Dark Side half to sign up for the virtual Kessel. We will, after all, have to do 14 miles before April.

I doubt it, since runDisney doesn't have to worry about too many runners on the course.

I am not Texas84, but yes, it looks like the same. The 2016 did not have blue around the engine, but the 2017 one did. This one looks like the 2017 version.

Sorry but the west coast doesn't hear about these kinds of things. DLR has been having trouble with the city of Anaheim over running our half marathons. It sounds like the perfect middle finger to Anaheim. "We'll just run our marathons virtually with out you.".

I'd say it sounds more like a cookie being tossed to all the people who complained about having registered for WDW and not being able to complete the Kessel challenge with the DLR races being cancelled.
