I too pass by that view every weekend when I go to the park as that is my exit on the 5 north. I never filmed from there because it's simply incredibly inconvenient. You have to park somewhere at Ball and Harbor, walk up that hill (I'm not exactly a *young* man), get the 60 seconds of video, then walk back down the hill...THEN go park.

Or park in a Disney lot, walk from the Main Entrance Plaza to Harbor, then walk up Harbor to the I-5 South Off-ramp area.

I did that all the time when I was taking photos for MiceAge/MousePlanet/Jim Hill Media and others.

Also getting to know the Hotel Owners on Harbor can get you access to some awesome high level views.

Also walking the sidewalk on Disneyland Drive on the East side south of Ball.

Paradise Pier Hotel has some good public access windows on the top levels.

The new Springhill Suites at Harbor and Katella has an awesome pool deck on the top level.

Specific details on how to make SWGE reservations will be available on the Disney Parks Blog and http://Disneyland.com on May 2 at 8 a.m. PT. You must have a Disney Account to register for a reservation so be sure to create one before registration opens at 10 a.m. PT.

I'm a retired guy. I'm supposed to get up that early?!?

Something tells me this reservation thing is going to get ugly. Really ugly.

What is "Retired"?

My fun was attending Congressman's Lou Correa's Town Hall and watch the Santa Ana Police escorting some members out of the Hall for not playing nice, and then talking to selected folks after the meeting that I would have preferred to not have seen tonight.

Glad I don't need to make a reservation, but it will be fun to watch, just like when I asked my wife for Peanuts and Popcorn tonight (Sarcastically). It was entertaining to watch the ugliness. Just wait until Dr. Moreno announces his campaign to replace Lou Correa.....

Just wanted to say...thank you. I can take the criticism pretty well, and rarely if ever respond to it. But it's nice to hear someone else respond in a way that I probably would have myself had I chosen to.

...btw, I don't necessarily LIKE Pixar Pier, I just REALLY didn't like Paradise Pier. It was the opposite of Walt's vision, and an obvious act of hubris of the Eisner era in thinking they could just give Walts legacy the middle finger like they did. So...Pixar Pier at least cancels some of that for me, and for that I'm grateful.

Love your vids and comment on them a few times here and there, but they are great! Obviously not everyone is going to like everything, but you know you're not going to please everyone...nor should. You just keep doing you.

And I agree completely about the Pier. Its shocking so many 'miss' the old one. I guess people liked the changes they were making to it, but to me its nothing more than cosmetic fluff. Yeah it looked a bit nicer from its 2001 version for sure but its still just a drab pier that probably shouldn't have been built. Pixar has added some real life to it even if its still not much to see. But its more today for me at least, so happy for the change.

BTW, saw your vid today of you guys getting reservations for opening day at SWL. Congrats, can not wait to watch that video and probably the other 300 that will be posted that day. We sure as hell aren't going to be there lol.

Great News - Smugglers Run. Heard through the grapevine, as of this Friday 4/26 the Smugglers Run attraction will be at "Full Guest Mode"
This means it is 100% ready for guests to ride it, even though there will be no guests until May 31st.
Training will continue for CMs to make sure they have the whole procedure down, when guests arrive!

That's great news. I hadn't heard this yet. They'll probably start testing with attractions CMs from other areas riding it so the Falcon CMs can get ready for CM previews that have been teased, but not yet formally announced.

Ahem!

The attachments don't seem to be causing the stir here like they are on the WDW boards. Probably because they were just links. Fully crediting @marni1971, here are rough layouts of Rise of the Resistance, Levels 1 & 2:

Thank you very much! We'll probably be live streaming that day, starting at 8 am Friday morning.

I know you got your reservation email today that had the wrong date on it, have they emailed you the one with the correct date yet? and did they explain how you claim your reservation when you go to the park? like is there something you have to print out and bring to the gate of STAR WARS TOWN to show your proof of reservation? did they go over those details in your confirmation email I wonder?

Yes, we did get our revised reservation for GE. Everything was a day early. Per the email "Details on how to redeem your Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge reservation will be emailed to you the day before check-in "

I know it's a rough sketch but to me it doesn't look like many scenes. 6 or 7? Others probably know offhand.

Yeah, some of those rooms might be more like halls with a few scenes happening in them.

For comparison, here's Mystic Manor.

Definitely feels similar as far as the layout accommodates occasional splits in the paths. I worry if it will be as easy to look behind you and see Kylo attack the next vehicle as it is to see the man-eating plant attack Albert before you’re really supposed to.

Hopefully there are a lot more automatic doors separating scenes than what this sketch indicates.

It also implies the great importance for good on board audio that can fake sounding as if it’s coming from the room around you - and yet not be heard by the vehicles ahead or behind you. It doesn’t matter so much when every scene is filled with characters singing the same song. It does matter if it’s supposed to sound like a hole was just blown into the side of the ship ...every 30 seconds.

This sure seems spectacular. I’ll probably love it. But I do wonder what all that square footage could have been used for if it was used as efficiently as a Fantasyland dark ride. Imagine a Star Wars version of Mr. Toads, it would last a half hour in that huge space!

Reminder, if you have reached your article limit at the OC Register, most other Southern California News Group (SCNG) papers should also have the article. They are...

I see what you mean. If I was looking at the Mystic Manor layout without it being labeled, I would have thought the same thing.
