Yoda

The wise Jedi master who first appeared in “The Empire Strikes Back” will once again be voiced by Frank Oz.

The Star Wars puppeteer and voice actor also performed Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and Animal on “The Muppet Show” and Cookie Monster, Bert and Grover on “Sesame Street.”

Yoda trained Luke Skywalker in the ways of The Force in “The Empire Strikes Back.” What the small, green alien creature with pointy ears and clawed fingers lacked in size he more than made up for with his magical powers.

Disney has not announced where Yoda will appear in Galaxy’s Edge, but it makes sense for the legendary Jedi Knight to make regular appearances in Savi’s handbuilt lightsaber workshop. The Walt Disney Imagineering creative team has dropped hints that visitors will be greeted by an “old friend” in the build-your-own lightsaber experiential shop.

“It has some great moments of magic,” Imagineering executive creative director Chris Beatty said. “The finale is super, super cool. In the reveal at the end you’ll be visited by an old friend as part of the experience.”<<

That's not much different than the face M&Gs. Talk to Jasmine about planes and she won't know what you're talking about: "Is that a flying carpet made from metals?" The ones from old times will pretend to not to know what a cell phone is: "Is that a magic portraiture device?" They'll pretend that you never even said the word "Epcot."

Yeah and face characters are paid differently and work shorter stints as well. Being asked to work on par with entertainment, but work under attractions labor agreements is a big gap.

More on building your own lightsaber at Savi's

https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...s-galaxys-edge/?CMP=SOC-DPFY19Q3wo0425190045A

Mostly backstory and old info, but it confirms "up to 14 builders at a time to choose their crystal and craft their lightsaber."

So, figure three sessions per hour, that's 42 builders per hour. Depending on how long the park is open between 500-600 people per day can do this. For what will be a hugely popular experience.

What will the tariff be on this? Gotta be huge.

14 at a time is just a group... you would have multiple groups running at a time. You account for how long each group stays at a station. You can also have multiple copies of each station (think the duel olivanders theatres).

If you imagine them spending 10mins at each station... that’s 6 groups taken in per hour. That’s 6x14=84 an hour... min 12hrs a day = or roughly 1k a day. Now you can multiple that number directly for any duplicate stations they have.
