Westcoaster has an update up and I noticed what appears to be bathrooms off the backside of the Resistance queue in the area I have speculated could serve as overflow space (and now possibly overflow toilets).

That’s funny, the other day I saw a post of yours where you were theorizing about the Falcon interior, and I thought, “I wonder if sedati still thinks the back of ROTR is going to be queue overflow?” ;)

My friend, that is backstage. There are BOH shuttles zipping back and forth past that area, and it looks like a prime spot for a clocker-inner black box. I think it’s pretty unlikely that area would be used for guest overflow even in the worst of cases. But if you end up being right, I’ll owe you a big apology, ten mickey ice cream sandwiches, and a thousand galactic credits! :)

We're getting close to the end, and there's just not much left to kick around.
I think if you look back I've had a pretty decent track record. I try to be clear that these are just speculations and I usually don't post willy-nilly- I try to back up any theory with some form of reasoning.
The idea about that back space began when steel went up and I commented about how there was clearly going to be rockwork on that backside, based on the appearance of the scaffolding "toothpicks." I was also stuck by the number of doors there. The rockwork proved true, though the reason for it is likely for some other purpose.
This has not been a theory I'd put high on my list, but yes- I keep going back and picking at it like some scab. I'm fine with being wrong and will gladly fess up to it. That said, there was talk of a "Bathroom Pass," for these super-sized queue and could this be an option over sending folks all the way out to the main village?
Thanks for reading anyway.

I would have been surprised if there WEREN'T CM restrooms and a breakroom there. It's the logical location to serve both Resistance (outside) and First Order (inside) CMs for RotR.

Though one would think if it was really going to be used for a guest "overflow" area. Then they would have continued the rock work all the way to the ground to continue the theming.

So isn't a CM break area a more likely scenario?

Well, guest overflow would theoretically be possible in the Universal model if they had semi-themed walls up to 8-10 feet and some kind of canvas cover overhead. But I always viewed this corner as service area when viewing it from the top of Mickey & Friends.

Placement of Resistance Cargo/Savi’s is a little Wonky, and I’m not sure about a source on Kat Saka’s, but everything else on that map looks accourate or reasonable.

I’m wondering if the Speeder garage will be another store front or at least something we can explore. Perhaps there was a missed opportunity to create a Tosche Station serving “Power Converters” as drinks/snacks.

Details for the virtual queue to get into Galaxy's Edge:
https://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/201903/6684/

But this sounds a little weird...."Disneyland will instead stack the next incoming group of visitors in that exterior queue, then load the land once that group is filled, so that the land does not drop below capacity."

I assumed the virtual queue would be similar to a fast pass where guests tickled in, but this sounds more like the WoC holding areas. I'm envisioning stampedes of people running to Smuggler's Run.

Disneyland expanding parking, changing visitor rules to prepare for 'Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge'

Link to ABC7 story.

***
PARKING:
The park is adding a Pixar Pals parking structure with more than 5,000 spaces. It's slated to open by the end of July and will include an electronic parking system to help people find spaces quickly.

The existing Toy Story lot will also add more than 2,000 additional spaces, with more entrances.

Security screening will be set up before guests board the Toy Story parking shuttle, so they won't have to wait for screening in the Esplanade area during busy times.

STROLLER SIZE:
Currently, strollers are allowed with dimensions no bigger than 36" by 52." That allowable dimension will change to 31" by 52."

Disneyland will also enforce the "no wagons" policy inside the park to help with crowd flow.

SMOKING:
Disneyland and California Adventure currently each have one designated smoking area. Those areas will be eliminated and smoking will only be allowed outside the secure areas of the Esplanade.

That essentially will make Disneyland a smoke-free resort as of May 1.

GALAXY'S EDGE ADMISSION AND RESERVATIONS:
Reservations - at no extra charge - will be required to visit the Star Wars attraction when it first opens until June 23.

After June 23, a boarding pass system with group-based admission times will be established so that people won't have to wait in line for "Galaxy's Edge."

This should make the hipster vape vloggers mad.

It's going to be interesting. Without real, consistent enforcement, things could get worse.

Also, when I first heard the report, my mind pictured having to go outside the turnstiles to the esplanade to smoke. But now that I read the text, it says "outside the secure areas of the Esplanade". So, does this mean finish your cig before you hit the security screening are coming in? If you're in Toon Town and get the uncontrollable urge, do you have to make your way to Harbor Blvd or the parking structure?

Yes.

I remember standing in line for the Matterhorn and there were two German tourists in front of me smoking. I got them to put it out however they threw it into the bushes around the sub lagoon. I thought, "Great! Let's burn down Disneyland now."

Europeans sure do love their cigarettes!
