Yep. That’s why I said it’s not a big issue. Just brought it up as it was said earlier that it’s only visible from the MT with a zoomed in camera lens, which isn’t true. But I don’t think it’s something that can be dismissed so quickly, as the mountains and the facade are an integral part of the land. If it isn’t fixed though, it’s not a big issue.

And this is the point that keeps getting glossed over, you can't see the gap inside the land which is what they are concerned about. You can only see the gap outside the land if you happen to be looking for it. If, and that is a big IF, you can still see it outside the land when it opens it'll be dismissed as just another in a long list of sight line issues at DLR.

Its more than a sight line issue if the rocks are noticeably fake. It would be like looking at Carsland from the winery and seeing big gaps in the rock work. Even if you can't see it from inside the land itself, a big powerful vista should look completed from major areas of the park. This isn't like seeing a smidge of something from a weird obscure corner of the park, this is from one of the busiest thoroughfares in Disneyland.

Ok point taken. In the end though it’s still likely to be much ado about nothing.

I'll let this comment slide.

Apologies if my comment came off as harsh or abrasive, that wasn't the intent. Let me explain.

I've been an active poster on here for about 2 years- and in that time I've continued to be blown away by the collective knowledge base seen on here as well as the quality of discussion. We have posters from each end of the Disney fan spectrum, from the purely magical to the overly cynical. Despite this, I don't think I've ever seen name calling, mud slinging, or rudeness that typically crops up in forums from time to time. All opinions are welcome and are often appreciated. There are a few reasons for this.

From what I've seen, TROR and I are the youngest posters on here by a good 15+ years. Many of the posters have been following the park online since Al Lutz was posting to Usenet, and have been life long fans and researchers of Disneyland. We also have a few insiders on here who are very well connected.

The most well known, at least outside the forum, is probably Darkbeer- who's extraordinarily well connected and has been filling us in on the political drama plaguing TDA and Anaheim right now. I was pleasantly surprised when reading archived Lutz posts from 2006 (sad I missed that period of Disney park online fan history) to see many photos attributed to him.

TP2000's neighbor lady continues to blow every other Disney fan site out of the water in terms of insight into the inner workings of TDA.

The most relevant to my original comment is the wonderful Give Me the Music- who has been sharing the internal goal opening date since the thing was announced. Just a month or two ago, she reported that the project is running behind, and crews are now working around the clock to meet the planned opening date.

When I say we don't need an estimated opening date from a front line CM, it's not to be harsh or condescending, it's because we already have far more reliable info on the subject.

The problem with marketing a land as the most "immersive" or "themed" or "cohesive" entertainment experience ever is every detail is going to be held to a higher standard. This gap in the rockwork might only be a temporary problem, or a non issue, or even intentional- but I am interested to see if it's addressed by Disney.

Thanks for explaining this so well. You did nothing wrong. I have also been a disney fan too since when I was born. I have a lot of books about disney. But it seems to me that every time I post something on here. It seems like it's the wrong info to put on here. I am not sure what to do. I really like it here it seems like everyone is nice and freindly. I have been on micechat before everyone one there was not nice to me so I left.

You just need to know you don’t need to post what CMs tell you. It’s not needed on a site like this. :)

Where is the gaps in this picture? It look like a natural background to me.
Sorry to bring this up again, but this is the gap I'm talking about it. May not seem that big on camera, but is a bit more noticeable in real life.

What are the views from inside the land going to be like? I’m trying to picture how much of Disneyland proper we ll be able to see from within the land? If anything.

Jim Hill's radio show discusses the "Millennium Falcon:Smuggler's Run" attraction. Thanks to Ken Coates for pointing this out.

1. 4-1/2 Minute ride duration, 1,800 riders/hour

2. If all 6 people did nothing, didn't push a button, there's a scenario that kicks in to make the ride enjoyable.

3. Disneyland - the bulk of the 'game' part of the ride is done.
4. People on project worried about load in/load out times. They want cast members there practicing the load in/load out.
5. Trying to figure out a polite way to get riders to get in the cockpit and not hold up the ride with selfies.
6. Jim received a cryptic email that read "search Batuu Travel Agency" - essentially a paid fastpass. Disney looking into this. Lottery system with fast passes. (rumor right now) Talk of raising opening week prices to $300 to discourage people form attending initially. (not confirmed)
7. In-house Disney is being told "just let it happen" - Let the large crowds happen. Don't create a solution.
8. Lots more interactive games at Galaxy's Edge than other park areas. You can earn "reputation points" - You can download an app to translate the areas of the ruins and collect points. Kind of a treasure/scavenger hunt around the park, while you spend 6 hours or more there.
9. Disney will have an interactive item that you can purchase and use in the land. Similar to the Harry Potter wand at Universal. Not saying what it is. Not happening day #1
10. Disney problem - how do we get fans to leave the land?

From Episode "Disney Dish #194" of his radio show.

While I don't think any of us here knows for sure, I would say the views from inside the land to Disneyland proper will be very limited if at all. You may see the trees on the berm, and maybe just maybe the peaks from BTM. But in my opinion without any other info, that will probably be it. The whole point is to be completely immersed in GE, so I expect almost no outside views.

The simplest solution to the no photos in the cockpit? Have a fake one outside the ride for guests to take photos, like the Dumbo vehicle, Teacup, and Mr Toad's vehicle found in Fantasyland.
