You mean the Walt Disney World inferiority complex :D
This is one of the few places on the entire discussion board where it continuously delves into full blown arguments to prove that DL is superior or WDW is inferior.

This isnt Ohio State vs Michigan. DL and WDW are on the same 'Disney' team. It's a petty sibling rivalry that some just cant let go of.

It's fine to prefer one or the other, but both resorts have superior qualities. If you cant see that you either havent been, or are just blind to anything other than your home resort.

And if we really want to stop this nonsense, everyone, including myself, needs to stop bringing up WDW in a DL forum. If you just focus on DL without bringing up WDW to compare or belittle it, these dumb arguments would stop because WDW fans would have no reason to chime in on defense

Tbh I really don't care. I think Disneyland's entrance from Critter Country will be a nice addition that WDW's doesn't have. But WDW doesn't have to deal with SWL in their Magic Kingdom park which is nicer for them.

Whoa whoa whoa, I go Black Friday shopping and this happens?

Let me restate. I don't know whether one will be slightly larger or smaller than the other. What I do know is that the land in DHS could've been built bigger, and further from Grand Park, than it will be. To put Battle Escape so close was by choice, not by necessity. And those who claim otherwise will be proven wrong. I feel like I'm going to get "haha, in your face!"-ed on something I never said.

And lastly, I couldn't give two spits about the differences. All I care about is disproving the conspiracy theory.

This was my fault. It usually is. In happier news, I scored a 65 inch UHD curved TV and a 4K blu-ray player for the den at Best Buy for an amazing price. What did you get? :)

You've mentioned that before, but it always confuses me. How could they have moved the Stormtrooper Battle ride? They are hemmed in rather tightly by World Drive and the soon-to-be-closed parking lot toll booths.

It seems to me that they had no choice but to smoosh the Stormtrooper ride right up next to MuppetVision and cut out most of the forested glade area shown in the Disneyland model at D23.

An earlier and different angle shows the logistical hurdles they faced in getting Star Wars Land to fit into DHS. They've got six lanes of World Drive on the west side, a swampy canal on the south side, and future parking lots on the east side. Where do they go for more room? Something had to give, and it appears they trimmed off the edges from the Disneyland version.

As long as they didn’t trim one of the E Tickets who cares?

I care. I find it very interesting, in fact.

It may even end up being like the difference in New Orleans Square in Anaheim versus the Tokyo copy. The core of the land in Tokyo is nearly identical, and the ride is a close copy too. But the way it was wedged in between Main Street and Adventureland right off the Hub for Tokyo makes it awkward and sort of a Cliff's Notes version of the more sprawling New Orleans Square in Anaheim. There's no river, no water, no good sightlines as you approach Tokyo's New Orleans Square, and nothing to look out at once you are there in the land.

Tokyo Disneyland is still fabulous, and DHS will be vastly improved once all its construction is done, but the Anaheim version of New Orleans Square from 1966 is the clear winner over Tokyo's "clone" that isn't a clone at all. I think it will be very interesting to see how these two Star Wars Lands differ in their land use, their placemaking, and their sightlines from both inside the land and as you approach them from other areas of the parks.

While we were first under the impression that these two lands would be "clones", with every aerial photo update that comes in it appears that is not the case at all. I'm fascinated to see how it all works out in 2019! :)

To the question of size... I wouldn't readily assume that the area between Critter Country and Star Wars Land is part of the latter. Depends where the entrance tunnel is built. Hate to see people assu too many things. You known the saying... when you assu, you make an out of u, not me, just u.

"Hemmed in rather tightly by World Drive?"? I do not see so. There's plenty room between SWL and World Drive which I outlined in black, from the picture you posted. You can see the berm being built. Considerable breathing room even before those backstage facilities, never mind before World Drive. They could've shifted the entire land over so that Battle Escape is more than five feet from Muppetvision.

As for Black Friday, I bought a lot, but the kewlest thing I bought was a Nintendo Switch. Not for me though. I also buy things in bulk that I think I can resell for more. I know, people despise that kind of thing, but is it any worse than the stock market? I scored on plush Olafs in 2014 and certain Force Awakens merchandise in 2015, but last year wasn't stellar. Hopefully I rebound.

If I'm wrong on this SWL thing, I'll send you lots of Coco merchandise!

No, I’m not counting that hungry bear walk.

I’m counting beyond the train berm (tunnel). There is like a 0.25- 0.5 acre size difference. Mostly because DHS excludes the expansion pad currently with their current berm build and entrance ways.

I agree that the lack of space thing is dumb in WDW. Like <1% are actually arguing that. DHS has plenty of space AND are rerouting their current park entrance. However, there is a minor size difference particularly in front of Battle Escape. One born out of DHS having no particular need to get around a river rather than lack of room.

As someone who long claimed the river reroute was significantly less than a third, trust me in this, it’s not an assumption. DL’s is bigger AND it doesn’t matter that it is. It’s not like the content is altered. It is a different park with a few more trees.
