we also have to factor in the amount of needed space now a days required for ADA compatible evacuations. Buildings have to be bigger now even though the attraction does not need the space

One of my compaints with the recent additions of darkrides which include the very short Winnie the pooh adventure, RSR and monster inc is the lack of intimacy of guest with show scenes. The older dark rides in Fantasyland had tight tracks with show scenes as close as possible to guests as they could get them. Now attractions have the show scenes pushed back to allow extra room for ADA evac as well as to avoid having stupid people damage them. Not only that guests are more careless and are more easily hurt and that is why even older rides are being modified. A couple years ago the matterhorn had to have many of its rockwork re-done to give a bigger clearance from guests. this is an attraction that had been in operation for decades.

There will be plenty to get intimate with on Battle Escape with its 75+ AA's and near-life size AT-AT's. But, there will also be screens...so its a trade-off.

The crampedness (word? Meaning?) of the FL dark rides is unbelievably charming and makes for some real scares on the Snow White ride, where large objects in the forest (AKA the trees and swamp beasts) are right up alongside the ride vehicle "attacking" you.

Yes that is what I miss in the newer darkrdes they have built. Because of all the new restrictions to make the rides ADA compatible and also guest proof the new rides have too much space between the ride paths and show sets.

I think that is one thing of the many issues with the Winnie the Pooh ride along with the oversized vehicles

I haven't been paying too much attention to construction. Is this section on the right new?
