Phase two for both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, opening later this year, will be Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the most ambitious, immersive and advanced attraction ever imagined, which will put Guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance and will blur the lines between fantasy and reality. Guests have made it clear they can’t wait to live their own Star Wars adventures, so the decision was made to open the land in phases to allow Guests to sooner enjoy the one-of-a-kind experiences that make Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge so spectacular.

I think this is a good idea.

Open all at once and you get insane crowds consisting of locals, CMs and tourists all together trying to cram in two rides.

By splitting it out, by the time the whole land opens, most of the tourists, locals and bloggers will have seen all the shops, restaurants and Smugglers, so those people will just be concentrating on RotR, opening up capacity in the rest of the land for the casual tourists to enjoy.

This way everyone visiting in the fall gets to experience some Star Wars, whereas one giant crowded opening would see some guests experiencing all of it but many not being able to get into the land at all due to capacity issues.

And the Free Dining promo just ended, but they still have the discounted rooms for a week or so, funny I went to WDW website yesterday to look at availability to maybe switch hotels and there was a lot at least 10 or 11 options, went on today and only three choices, all deluxe

I honestly think it will blunt some of the crowds since people aren't going to necessarily want to make 2 trips so close in time.

What on Earth are you talking about?

Scenario 1: Everything Opens in the Fall

• September guests get nothing
• Fall guests get everything

Scenario 2: Staggered Opening

• September guests get the land and one ride
• Fall guests get everything

In the staggered scenario, September guests are better off and fall guests get the exact same thing they would have otherwise gotten.

I am using English so anyone with a basic understanding of the language should understand.

Who cares about September guests? What about May guests? Should the open the land with no rides so they can experience some of the land.

They advertised late fall and now it is opening at WDW in the late summer. Are you going to WDW in September? It seem you really want it to be open then.

I believe they should open Galaxy’s Edge when it’s done

Scenerio 1: The complete land opens

People want to be the first to see this land and the opening is crazy busy, but the full land is open to spread the crowds around through out the whole land. Full capacity is achievable. Even still some guest are not able to ride both attractions
Media is able to judge the completed land as a whole

Scenerio 2:
One ride is open.

People who want to be first to see the land come and the opening is crazy busy, however there is only one ride open. This reduces the capacity of the land. Now there is not an additional attraction that pushes 20,000+ Guests through it a day. Due to capacity issue more people are turned away from the land. Everyone that does make it into the land will not be able to ride the single open attraction due to demand. People are upset they went to Star Wars land and couldn’t ride the ride. Since most people go to Disney for the rides they are understandable upset.

No Fastpass at opening is good.

For one, it'll be fair to everyone.

Second, if the ride breaks down or has issues, they don't have to deal with people who planned to be there at a certain time and only that time. Also, once it reopens, they won't have to deal with a surge of FP people coming in and further backing up the standby.

As much as it would be nice to breeze by the inevitable long wait, this (no FP) is good from an operations standpoint.
