There are lines to get into the gift shops today. I guess that’s good?

For a billion dollars it would have been cool to have a transit ride like the people mover. Views of the land, add some movement and life while you’re walking around...

I will say the land is much better at dusk and at night. I had fun playing the game on the app last night and seeing things light up and respond.

The app game sounds like something my son will love. I hope it’s still working when we go next. Is it big things that happen or ?

They had a really fun iPad game at Aulani for kids. You made pretty major things happen all over the island. It was so fun for us to do together.

Not really. It's bad design. The antique shop with all the props to look at while experiencing extreme anxiety is a very tiny store. Even when the park was empty, it was packed with people. They just can't fit many people in it and have to line them up in the sun to wait their turn to be packed in like sardines.

I believe it was TROR who said he/she went yesterday and the posted wait time was almost triple the actual wait time. That's not a slight inflation to make sure you keep people happy.
Well, first off, I'm a dude. Second off, I think it was George who said. However, I did go yesterday and the wait time at one point was 45 minutes (announced over the intercom) despite the sign saying 70. There definitely is false inflation taking place.

I seem to recall mention that early plans for the land included basically a people mover bantha ride.

I wish Disney would remember they are an all ages family park. I love the fact that my mom can ride the avatar boat ride with me and enjoy it. Gentle rides and shows balance out a land. Adventureland isn’t just an e-ticket and shops.... it’s an AA show, a gentle boat ride, a treehouse to explore and an e ticket (pirates in Florida, Jones in California). That’s what makes a land.

Don't known if it's just not a thing at DLR, but at WDW false inflation is a daily occurrence.

The level of detail is overwhelming. If they didn’t look so bored and were being proactive in welcoming guests as they enter the land I may think I’m at Disneyland or something!

There was another group doing the same thing on the opposite wall... and at pretty much every entrance ha

A little show with at least one Union actor. (If they have to be union to be mic’ed like in Florida with equity... not totally sure.). This was my first time seeing one of the many obvious stages actually being used. They really need a whole lot more of this.... hopefully it’s coming.

I noticed the exact same thing on my visit last week. Clumps of bored CM's just standing there chatting with each other, totally ignoring all the paying visitors as they walked by. American CM's are generally notorious for this type of lazy behavior, a complete 180 degree experience from the far superior CM's in Tokyo Disneyland. But the Star Wars Land CM's were blatantly bad at this, clumped around leaning on walls talking to each other and ignoring everyone else. Why the heck were they even there?!?

I walked into the empty Droid Depot around 9 o'clock at night and the two CM's standing there were just talking away about how mad they were to be scheduled to work on July 4th and how they will probably call sick that night because their job is boring and they deserve to have July 4th off as a 20 year old entry level employee who purposely sought out a job in the hospitality industry.

I was able to shop entirely ignored, marveling at the 75 dollar R2D2 mixing bowl made in Communist China. I passed on that opportunity and walked out, and they were still talking to each other.

One my biggest pet peeves is when people complain about their jobs in front of customers.

Aside from those two who were obviously just being terrible employees, any chance all of these CMs were told to act bored and uninterested to keep in theme so that’s what they’re doing?

We noticed this too. The CMs in Florida on our last trip were far superior, with the exception of a few really good eggs on our latest DL trip.

I'm afraid not.

They weren't acting bored and uninterested because the big cargo ship from the Planet Terrelia didn't arrive at Black Spire Outpost at the original time. They were acting bored and uninterested because they are Fullerton Junior College kids who are too undisciplined and unprofessional to maintain minimum standards of basic customer service. And their Disneyland management obviously doesn't care.

Talking to each other about shift times and icky cafeteria menus and Katie's party last weekend didn't really pull me into the story of Batuu.

But their uniforms looked great! Which is a shame, because you would think looking that good in the middle of a Billion dollar land would give them a sense of pride and heighten their professionalism. Maybe they'd even smile and say hello to the customers who spent $149 to get in? Apparently for the average 20 year old in Orange County, that's not a thing they know how to do.
