Yes, DHS has a spinner and a kids coaster in its “top tier” attractions... and yet it’s a $100+ park?

Slinky Dog is a good coaster, even if it's classified as a "kid's coaster". It's up there with BTMRR as far as the fun factor. Attractions at DHS (which I'm not defending because I'm still very unhappy with how that park has been treated in recent years that will affect it going forward):

  1. Tower of Terror (best version)
  2. Rock'n Roller Coaster
  3. Lightning McQueen Show
  4. Mermaid Show
  5. Disney Jr Show
  6. Indy Show
  7. BatB Show
  8. Toy Story Midway Mania
  9. Slinky Dog
  10. Aliens Spinner
  11. Star Tours
  12. Muppetvision 3D (classic)
That's enough to keep it a half-day park... which likely won't change with Star Wars. But that's the fault of Lucasfilm and Chapek, one of which required the new Star Wars expansion NOT connect to Star Tours, and the other who agreed with them for financial reasons. The original DHS plans had Streets of America staying, an expanded Pixar Place that went all the way to where the Backlot Tour queue used to go, and had DHS' version of Galaxy's Edge starting at the Backlot Express (which would have been demoed) and connect in two other places... behind Muppets, and near where the LMA Stadium was. It would have increased the footprint of the park, greatly increased the capacity, allowed a direct walkway between the SW hotel and the land, and resulted in more rides. Instead they tore down Streets of America and put in a parking lot. Thanks, Lucasfilm.

I skipped Hollywood Stupidos on my last visit and may never go again.

I feel the same way. WDW park tickets (single AND multi-day) have gotten really expensive, and there's only two attractions there I really care about any more (ToT & Muppet Vision). Everything else either exists somewhere else, or has become really stale like the stage shows. I'm sure Slinky Dog is fun, but I don't feel like paying $100 and waiting in a 90 minute line to ride it.

Too bad they got rid of the Great Movie Ride and the projection show with clips from The Rocketeer and The Black Hole.

Oh I like slinky dog, but it’s still a kids coaster. And an exposed steel coaster at that, the “family” coaster at Dollywood has Way more to offer theme and effect wise (waterfall, rockwork, Fire, and smoke effects and yes it’s also a launched coaster).

Some day when Great Mickey Ride and both SW rides are open the list will be up to 15. If you skip all of the shows that’s still 10 rides. With FP+ And multi day ticket crowds at WDW there’s zero chance anyone will be doing DHS in a half day without skipping half the attractions. I still think they need more and the shows do need to be refreshed.

To get back on topic, DHS won’t have the capacity to absorb the initial crowds from SW Land. Especially without Great Mickey and height requirements for several of the other headliners limiting families with small kids. Wait times for everything else will be way up. At least they will have the Skyliner open for people to hop over to EPCOT (especially for meals).

The waterfall on the Disneyland map is over by the number 19 the RotR.

If you're prone to motion sickness, it may be worse than Star Tours. There's a really awkward part at the end where the car is obviously rotating to the side in sync with the video. It seemed like the sort of thing that shouldn't have been on the ride itself but I assume the motion on the carousel (?) was too noticeable and they made it a part of the video as well.

Imagine your friend built a custom falcon cockpit and hooked it up to his xbox with really big screen... that’s really what it is.
Interesting. I thought it had motion too. So you just sit in a chair and watch the screen? Why does it have a height requirement? Star Tours has been around for like 30 years, it’s disappointing they couldn’t even match the technology let alone surpass it.

There's motion but it's incredibly minimal and hardly noticeable, especially when distracted by the meaningless tasks.
