... Question...

Our reservation is the next Monday... one of our friends has been called to a business trip and can not go. The other 4 of us can...

We're good right?

Edit: I've read some verbage from another website board and they make it seem that the "all members must be present" means if 1 from the reservation list can't make it, others can't go. Sounds silly, but, wanna check...

That's hysterical! :D

It hasn't even been a full week yet, and crowds have been incredibly light and controlled by Big Brother in TDA who won't let more in.

That waiter needs to look for another line of work, maybe in an old Pasadena tea shop that has four tables and is open from 11am to 3pm.

A job at Disneyland doesn't seem to have been a wise career choice for that Cantina waiter.

It’s hard work The location is constantly packed regardless of the rest of the crowd. Servers there are working 12 hour days. 12 hours of talking nonstop and carrying drink trays through a very cramped and very loud bar.

You should be fine, unless your friend that can't go is the primary guest on the reservation.

Yup, that's show biz!

I hope these CM's don't think the Cantina is going to mellow out later this summer. It will only get crazier, and stay that way for at least a few years. Even if they start selling alcohol at the Blue Bayou or Riverbelle Terrace.

Our waiter at the Cantina was happy to tell us, out of character, he’s over all of it and has “been here too long today.”
A couple other things of note, when I went the 6th, a day after I went on the 5th, a few things weren't working. The Loth Cat was completely static, and the Droid Depot overhead droid part conveyer thing wasn't moving either. Both were working the first day I went.
Man, couldn't even make it a WEEK before things started breaking including the employees...

I've got the same issue, also on Monday. But I'm gathering that it should be fine as long as I'm there (I'm the primary reservation holder) - it's just that anybody not present when I check in won't be able to go in at all.

Has anyone tried asking for the pilot position? It seems like everyone has been ok with the position they re assigned. If I ask for the pilot position will they have me just wait in a little separate line like when I ask for front row on Space Mountain? It seems to me that they would accommodate you, especially during the less busy reservation period.

They do let you request, they'll usually just take parties behind you and keep you in line until you're first.

Learning that I can ask to pilot is the best news about Smuggler's Run. I honestly don't think I'd ever be happy if I waited in stand by just to not be the pilot. Now I'll never have to know if that's the case or not because I'll just ask!

My guess is that changes after previews. I read they handed out the plaques blind, and you turned them over to see what your position was. You can always negotiate, but I'll be stunned if CMs will fall for that Jedi Mind Trick.

So what’s the consensus on which Pilot seat is more fun? I know the Pilot on the right has the honor of pulling the light speed lever (and flys the ship up/down) but i heard that steering the ship left/right might be more challenging/ fun.

Left and right would be my guess... it doesn't look like you get much freedom to fly around in the footage I've seen... left and right has you avoiding more obstacles.

I've only been left pilot but I have to say I was very jealous of the light speed lever. All I had aside from my stick was a button or two. That light speed lever gets cheers.

The Millennium Falcon may be the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy but it handles like an extra-large mobile home. It's really sluggish and you have to plan ahead and nudge your lever just a little bit. Reacting late and slamming the lever to extremes doesn't work. So it's not a quick reactions game. For pilots it's about planning ahead and easing the control slightly.

A day later and I still wish I had gotten to pull the hyperspace lever. If I had to choose one or the other I'd probably choose the right pilot spot.
