This is why we can't have ramps
I'm honestly not sure why he hasn't changed his handle to "The Falcon Ramp" yet.
Wait are we allowed to change usernames? I've been tempted to change mine
might work to their advantage and make Hondos voice less annoying.
Most definitely.Wait are we allowed to change usernames? I've been tempted to change mine
He’s actually one of the best things about the ride though. The breakdown video with him interacting with Chewie and trying to entertain the crew is hilarious.
I think Millennium Falcon has the potential to be just as good as Star Tours when they add more missions. If closing Star Tours means they can add the locales from it to the ride, I wouldn't complain. Would love to go to Hoth and Tatooine. Maybe they'll throw in an actual trip to Endor while they're at it. But the current location is just so drab and unmemorable.

Falcon really really needs to reward multiple ride throughs in a substantive way.
Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story both rewards riding the ride many many times, and create a healthy competition among friends. That's how you make an interactive ride.
Falcon is a confusing mess, where your actions don't really have any real impact on the mission, and where the score is completely meaningless and confusing since it's not easy to see what you did well or not, or what you could possibly do better when the ride does everything anyways.
Hopefully the imagineers are using the feedback from guests for the current ride profile and tailoring a better experience in future profiles. They should also add more options for guests, for example in the engineering position. An option to be passive or a "beginner" (if they just want to watch the screen), "amateur" option for something similar to what there is now with mashing buttons that light up, and an "expert" mode where you are responsible for balancing and redistributing power to weapons, shields, propulsion, etc. as well as making repairs to help keep the ship performing at peak efficiency for certain situations. Offer all levels of options to satisfy every type of guest, and maybe have your risk of earning (or losing) more points increase as the level of difficulty increases. And if you want a passive experience and not worry about the competitive stuff, you still can. No harm no foul. Everyone's happy.Although I like the current Corellia mission I agree that's it's not as visually striking as it can be. It's basically a cold industrial zone. Hopefully the new missions will look totally different and use more of the potential of the ride. Giving the engineers and gunners some more stuff to do would go a long way. Being a pilot is very overrated.
Perfect segue. I saw a video on YT about this. A credit system is already put into place. They can be earned by doing tasks in the Play Disney app, and by successful Falcon missions. The problem, as you said, is there are no rewards. No way to spend the credits except for (I believe) obtaining badges in the app. So why care to earn them. They don't have to be spendable as cash, but maybe earn enough and you can get a fastpass for Falcon that doesn't have a time associated with it, or 10% off merch/food, or a no-reservation entry to Oga's.Falcon really really needs to reward multiple ride throughs in a substantive way.

The problem with just watching the show is that the show is boring. There's barely any movement on the ride and the CG world is ugly.
Shaking isn't exactly thrilling movement like diving and swooping about. I hadn't heard anything about the movement before going in besides that it was less thriller than Star Tours. Other than takeoff, I honestly forgot I was on a simulator and I don't mean that in a positive, I mean I felt like I was sitting in a stationary room playing a video game. Even if you want to argue there's a lot of movement because "shaking", it's still not substantial enough to be the only aspect of a ride.Too complicated. The weird passive people can just sit there while the controls go on auto pilot after a while. No need for a grandma mode.
The first time I went on SR I was prepared to be disappointed in the movement. I had heard so many times on here that it barely moved and was substantially tamer than Star Tours. You were wrong. You were so wrong. If the pilots are bad you can get rocked around pretty good. Star Tours has more tilting than SR but has nowhere near the amount of shaking.

A fair amount at Chuck E. Cheese, actually. You see I just can’t take this seriously because I’ve been on the ride a whole bunch of times and it never feels like I was just sitting in a room that tilts a little. There’s a lot of different vibrations and movement going on and at the end when Chewy takes over the controls you even get some dramatic “swooping” motion. What video game has that? I have a bunch of quarters saved up.
