It'd be great to have some pizza delivered, too, for a late night snack.

My read on this, and I might be wrong, is that this is less of a ‘director’ and more of a ‘show caller / stage manager’ sort of position. It’s running crew, not creative direction.

Yeah, it really sounds like this is the person who will be managing the experience as they are occurring, stage manger is a good analogy. The description uses the plural "Directors" in some places which would make sense since you would need multiple people to fill those roll. It also mentions having to work with an "overall experience Creative Director".

Disney doesn't do anything Disney doesn't already do.
And yet, here we are discussing an offering unlike anything they’ve ever done before.

And gambling is the most extreme example for good reason and not really comparable. Meanwhile, the people paying huge money don't get anything but the casino action.

Well then I'm here to tell you your expectations are off and don't count on it.

Only in your head.
Agree to disagree, no need to be rude about it. I couldn’t care less what you want to tell me. That doesn’t factor into my curiosity about the experience at all. Have a nice day.

I'd assumed the shuttle would go into the building. I thought the long tunnel they're building was for staff. But they're adding thematic elements to the back of the building- a facade much like there is on the front. Interesting.

Something tells me that the whole complex is going to be glaringly visible from the road as you take the main exit. The screening really seems incomplete except once past the gate. The whole approach is pretty damn foul on the backside of Galaxy's edge, etc. I hope they do valet drop off somewhere else where guests don't drive themselves to the property.

I don't think that would be themeing, since there is no way guests should be able to see that area, because you would also be able to see the shuttle. Am I thinking that area is going to do double duty as both the guest entrance from the shuttle and as service access to the land.

The backside of the building is getting themed. Look at the shape and height, it mirrors the front. All I can think of is we pull into a false front that lines up with the shuttle so when we step off we see a spaceship in much the same way the illusion is handled on Rise of the Resistance. We step into a tiny courtyard with a spire above on our right. Ahead is the building I’d assumed for years would act as a garage, but now wonder if it may be a sort of Batuu customs office.

It is where the pool is....
Refreshing dip after your excursion to gritty Battu?

Wild speculation time:

This is all based on the observation that the area in yellow is receiving theming which would then mean that this is observable to guests. The shuttle (Bus) would pull up to a false facade so that when we disembark we see the spaceship behind us. We would be in a small courtyard like area with the new wall to our left with trees visible above, the entrance building to Batuu before us and a spire to the left. There are utilities that could easily be hidden by another false shell of a ship. We enter the building and are processed for our excursion on Batuu.

The new corridor like structure seems more purposefully shaped than a simple cast tunnel. What if we don't leave under the same circumstances we arrive? Maybe we are chased by the First Order, take an alternate route (while being shot at- pew! pew!), and only barely make it onto the waiting shuttle (green passage). Again, all wild speculation based on a single observation. Then again, I was able to correctly identify (seemingly) this area as the drop-off point by noticing the irregularity from it's Disneyland counterpart.

Thoughts?

I would think any disembarking would be through a docking door into an interior space. It just solves so many other potential issues if you were allowed to exit into an open air space.

The in-character theme is going to be broken as soon as you're in Galaxy's Edge anyways, though, with all the regular Disney visitors milling about. Or it will eventually, at least -- I think the sample itinerary had people arriving and riding Rise of the Resistance before it was open to regular guests, but they would still be there during regular operating hours.

Absolutely, yes. Which is why is see the additional work on the back of the building so baffling. It is a curved wall structure the same size and shape as seen on the front. This to me can only mean that guests will see it. That's what has me confused and also wildly speculating.

Could it be that the building could be seen from somewhere else, so they’ve added this to make it look like a spaceship? Maybe from somewhere inside Batuu?
