That’s a really interesting role. Everything sounds like it will be very fluid and dynamic. So it makes sense they would need someone in that capacity to continually evaluate and steer the experience and character/story interactions. It would essentially be a live action dungeon master.

Which brings up a question I don’t think I have seen addressed in any of the marketing. Given the duration of the experience, is everything “open” 24 hours? The sample itinerary has clearly defined key events and stop points. But are the general activities, like lightsaber training, available at any time? Can you pick up a game of Sabacc at midnight? Can you go to the bridge to explore at 2am? I’m really curious how open and active the ship itself will be outside of designated hours to roam around, sightsee, and explore.

I would assume that CM's won't be running activities 24/7, it just would make sense to man that at night. It will be interesting to see how much of the ship stays open after hours.

Seems pretty late in the process to be looking for the director for the passengers' LARP experience...

Disney cruise ships operate on a family focused schedule, there generally isn't anything to do as of midnight.

Will this be different? Will it be a more adult crowd that wants to get their money's worth by doing some late night things?

I think someone posted an example of a schedule of activities, but I don't recall if it was official or just a theory.

I definitely feel, when I'm at WDW, that I'd like things to be open later so I can vacation on my own schedule. Of course, I don't realistically expect them to keep Epcot open until 2:00 am just for my preferred night owl schedule. Given the price of this experience, will people have more of an expectation in that regard?

That’s the question. Based on the cost of entry, the limited time of engagement, the small size of the crowd per trip, and the idea that this is a fully interactive story experience…it’s not unreasonable to expect that everything is always “on” when onboard the ship during the entire duration of a stay. So it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Is is unreasonable. How many family entertainment places do you know that run 24/7? Even Vegas properties while open and gambling, limit what is open/accessible after normal operating hours.

You're gonna find it like every other place of accommodation. Freedom of movement but assets secured or disabled to make them unaccessible. It's no different then moving around on a cruise ship... after the places close, passages are open, spaces are there, but nothing is happening in them and interactive type stuff is not accessible. They don't lock you in your room, but they don't offer you anything to do after-hours.

Apples and oranges. But you basically gave an example of what I am talking about. If I am in Vegas, I can gamble at any time...those tables don't close. A $5K+, limited-time experience that is billed as fully immersive is perfectly reasonable to expect that level of accessibility here too. I don't expect all the shows to be running or the characters to be walking around, but it's perfectly reasonable to expect to have some activities throughout the experience available at any time, even if it's just touring/sightseeing the full ship.

I see this experience compared to a cruise a lot. There are several activities or food offerings on a ship that are 24/7. Definitely more limited in the 1am-7am range, but available.

I seriously doubt that.
Perhaps a bar and/or place to grab some food will be open late.
But I really don't believe anything else will be going on late.

This isn't Vegas, it's Disney.

And gambling is the most extreme example for good reason and not really comparable. Meanwhile, the people paying huge money don't get anything but the casino action.

Well then I'm here to tell you your expectations are off and don't count on it.

Nobody said it was. But it’s also not a standard experience. It’s being billed as fully immersive and something completely new. Until they release more details, we’ll just have to speculate on operating hours.
It's not happening.
It's Disney, and it's a family space.
Disney doesn't do anything Disney doesn't already do.
Are Disney hotels hopping all night?
This won't be either.

The size of this property, with only 100 rooms, would not have enough demand for 24 hour service to be economically realistic.
I understand where the understanding is coming from that there will be stand down go to your respective cabin and go to sleep time frame, not specified, implied by the tentative activities schedule that was put out by Disney. Simply each day there is a point where there is nothing projected to happen until the next day. For the price there needs to be activities commensurate w a Star Wars immersive experience for the entire time. People will get sleep after the experience is completed and depart the Halcyon.
