They need to cut the number of cruise dates drastically. This will create artificial demand.
They also need to create multiple different themed cruises. Each theme would be a different plotline during the cruise.

I don’t know that they could retain the actors at that frequency
An excellent point I did not consider.

They need to have frequent enough cruise dates to retain actors.

It seems to me, it's back to changing the price to a point where they are making enough money to make the accountants happy at a frequency of cruise dates that will retain actors.

One question I have is, are they making enough money at 25% capacity to make the accountants happy?

As a guest, I am happier when there is 25% capacity and not mobbed.

This is certainly true for the parks, but for the Starcruiser I think it would start to feel empty as a graveyard at anywhere below 50%. There's a lot of fun in interacting with your fellow passengers throughout the story (we had First Order kids trying to infiltrate secret Resistance meetings, etc.), and some events like the bridge training don't work nearly as well without enough people in them.

Crowding was definitely an issue.

Also, I know that a few GS cast also perform in other areas of Disney so I'm not sure how their availability would be handled with fewer cruises. I only know that this lives and dies with their performances. They *made* the experience in every case. The ship is nice. It's great. The people are amazing.

Yeah, I don’t know what the demand is for actors in ORL. I feel like something like this is pretty demanding on an actor’s time and exclusivity. They may have better paying, more reliable options on multiple days a week than 2-3 nights playing one character.

Staff, too--I know there are tips included in a Starcruiser stay and I hope the guests would leave a little more on top of that if they've already splashed out $6k, but if there aren't enough people to guarantee a good number of tips there it might not be worth the assignment. I think they're using college program kids for this and maybe they don't have a choice, but there have to be some regular staff there?

It needs to be per person pricing. $3k for 2 people in a room.

Couldn't they just cut this down to a 5 days per week schedule to help with smaller staffing and lost tips?

For instance, not do a cruise on Tuesday/Wednesday and have a smaller crew have that as their common days off?

That would allow them to have a cruise schedule like this, and cut out the need for more than one gaggle of core characters and CM's:

Thursday/Friday/Saturday Cruise 1
Saturday/Sunday/Monday Cruise 2
Tuesday/Wednesday Closed (All CM's have those two days off, with maintenance and cleaning of the facility)

In the 1950's through mid 1980's, Disneyland was always closed on Monday/Tuesdays about 8 months of the year. Why not try that with this to help slim down costs and help the CM's get the hours and tips they need?

They did cut down in the fall.

Oh, did they? I missed that. So they were only doing two departures per week of 2-night cruises?'

Looking at the busy Spring Break period just ahead, here at a few minutes before Midnight Mountain Time on Wednesday, they're basically wide open for the next 90 days. It seems going to a Thursday or Saturday departure day for the 2 night experience could get them through the spring, which is being reported to be very busy for American tourism. Except for Galactic Starcruiser.

This coming fall, I should've said. I believe from September on, they're cutting back to two voyages a week.
