This coming fall, I should've said. I believe from September on, they're cutting back to two voyages a week.

Oh! Got it. Well, that's good news for the CM's at least.

The sharp pencil boys are obviously mad as heck about this change, but at least the waiters in the lightly populated Crown of Corellia Dining Room can make more consistent tips without splitting the dwindling occupancy loads with other CM's.

You are immersed! (Gratuities not included.)

The tips are pre-set. It’s 18% auto gratuity included with the package, and then additional tips on drinks. Breakfast & lunch is the only time where the dining room is typically that empty as it’s buffet style and guests come and go. With no servers.

Ah, interesting! But if the cruise is only 60% booked the servers would receive fewer tips than if it was 90% booked, correct?

Hypothetically yes. Less occupancy equals less servers though. A 100% occupancy cruise would typically have ~13 servers, where a <50% cruise may only have ~8 servers. Additional tips for great service plus cocktails/mocktails that have the auto 18% gratuity added, also vary from party to party. So hard to say, but probably less money.

That picture is constantly brought up and lit so harshly. This is something of what it looks like at that time for what it's worth. This is breakfast the second day - insanely early since we had the photos onboard and picked a time ship's areas would be relatively empty.

Very interesting! I always enjoy learning about the nitty-gritty of operations like this. Thank you!

It seems that perhaps the best thing going forward is to schedule roughly two cruises per week, leaving two off days in between cruises, in order to maintain a proper CM base that can still maintain decent tips even if the weekly cruises they do have aren't at 85% occupancy or higher.

It’s like the after Christmas markdowns…a few more weeks, it’ll go to 50%…get out your fire extinguishers…this dumpster is burning….
