Instead of cutting so much, they should add an extra night (or two?) to increase the value.
You're not in the room very much but for sleeping. That's the point.
Not a bad idea. They can keep the prices as is and add a night or two.

Yes, it costs them a little more in food and CMs, but it seems the profit would still be there and as Tony says, folks would see more value in their stay.

So then the question I'd ask is what does that third and possible fourth day consist of?

They'd have to come up with more story and content to keep it going longer, right?

I mean, it's not a real cruise and not like a real park resort so I'm guessing that these activities they offer which are meant to be "cover" for the secret experience aren't just going all day every day like they would be on a normal cruse or at a normal resort where you can pick certain things at your leisure, right?

And at that point, unless they build out a lot more, that means things like Glactic Line Dancing and Space Bingo actually are a part of the real experience and not just just elaborate setup for something else, right?

Wouldn't that be the point it becomes legitimate cringe if they had to resort to that?

Could they offer a third day without a major rework of the experience? Would it just be dumping you in Galaxy's edge for the better part of that day?

If they did rework it, how does that impact their cost for running things. Are they effectively accepting a 50% cut in profit by doubling the stay and doubling the experience at the same price?

Maybe it would just be easier to do what they're doing and close it half the week. (or maybe not - I'm not pretending to know)

I mean…not a bad idea. But I don’t think that’s the problem.

Just from the cheap seats, the problems seem to be:
1. Price
2. Execution
3. Concept

You adjust number 1 and work on 2 until they meet…and live with 3.

But this is also part of the bigger IP problem here…and Bob and the choices they make. It colors everything.

They'd have to build new storylines. The talent would have to be consistent through them for 3 days. It'd be a lot harder work for them I'm sure.

We were pretty stacked with things to do and story points for the 2 days and we didn't spent extra time much at GE but for the time it took to do our tasks there.

I applaud Disneys bold approach to try something different with this hotel. Trying new things leads to innovation. Long term I always failed to see this as sustainable, but dismissed it purely for not being a Star Wars fan, and have not followed this production.
I hope this doesn't cause Disney to become shy implementing other out-of-the-box ideas, even if this becomes nothing more than a themed hotel if the show is removed.

I think the issue is more of the concept, less price & execution.

They executed the concept perfectly fine... but how many people are there that are actually interested in a fully interactive Star Wars adventure for 48 hours? I like themed entertainment, but not that much.
Right, and GE is a more fun SW experience for a fraction of the price

A reasonably priced overnight immersive experience revolving around a fully themed dining experience would have worked better than the overpriced two day thing.

Honestly, Smugglers Run and Rise seem more impressive than anything I've seen from this resort.

That's the problem, though - they can drop half a billion dollars on those rides because there will be millions of people a year paying to ride them.

They can't spend like that on this experience because there is no way to keep it exclusive and still maintain a price-point that's reasonable.

The price point they're at already doesn't seem to be worth it to most of the audience they expected to attract; just think how much more expensive it would have been if they'd actually invested in the tech to make that lightsaber training impressive and done other really over the top stuff?

LARPING, mostly reliant on the cast and guests' willingness to play along, seems as far as they could ever go with a concept like this at the scale they decided to go with.

I heard from a bus driver that late 2024 it will close for a refurb and reopen as a 2 night murder/escape room aboard the Nostromo.

Themed breakfast soft boiled egg will be interesting

The entire story was spoiled to the internet after the first voyage. Why do I, a Star Wars fan, need to spend the $4.7k to stay on the ship when I already know the story from every angle, virtually explored the room, seen the ending (the outcome seems to be set), and the merch?? I am not going to pay $4.7k to taste the food.

The entire experience is cataloged online. From a fan perspective, you don't need to really go on the Star Cruiser to experience what happened. I also think of all those fans that are socially awkward or do not want to participate - why would they want to do this? I mean, maybe if voyages are only half full... but still.

Unless Disney can write a new, fresh story and prevent it from leaking, I don't know why any fan would need to pay that price.

The problem is an operational cost issue. They backed themselves into a corner with the stupid high price, which prevents them from cutting the experience as they typically do.

I don't buy that they can't make this work during the busy summer and Thanksgiving through Christmas. It's more likely they don't want to make it work because they know this peaked much quicker than expected.

It wouldn’t be too much work for them if they used the third day as a “break day.” They could make the middle day a theme park day. It’s kind of ridiculous anyways having your customers pay a downpayment to attend but then forcing them to spend their measly two days going to DHS trying to complete quests & ride an attraction that breaks down often.

That problem would be eliminated with a third day and you would only need to really add breakfast/dinner entertainment which isn’t hard. SWGS looks like fun but I cannot believe it’s only two days for that much. Beef up the options now that the demand is down. I would totally consider paying that expensive price if a third day was added.

I do…they have “systemic” problems with this…stemming from at least two huge mistakes. But my opinion is known…carry on.
I’ll be over here watching people make excuses with their shoelaces tied together 🍿

I think that was a given. There was a HUGE internal screwup on this…if my spidersense is correct? - and it just had an upgrade at the shop recently

But that's already what the second day is more-or-less, right? Then what does the second day become?

I just LOVE that you directly answered me while at the same time ignoring me…
