It may be good, it may be bad, but Disney is trying to create a story in regards to the starcruiser experience that ties into the greater Star Wars world. What story is there that Admiral Ackbar, a rebel/resistance pilot, would be aboard a cruise ship and introduce the captain? What story is there that someone we met before would be the captain of a cruise ship?

Again, not trying to say if the current story is good/bad, or that even going with a story at all is the right call at all. But with that being the direction of this experience, you need to make the story fit.
Well, Merrill Stubing was a lowly Mid-Shipman in Operation Petticoat. Of course, he went on to become captain of the Love Boat....

Amazing that the hype train for this is derailing at at an alarming rate. This is the fandom that buys $20 action figures regularly, preorders plastic vehicles for over $300, assembles their own costumes with expensive materials and seems to have unlimited funds for whatever insane merchandise and experience it releases.

And yet, Disney seems to be letting them down. Perhaps they think the fandom is dumb and will just continue to pay regardless.
After watching the hype video, I agree with you. Disney doesn't care or understand the fans that made Star Wars. Those are the fans that have 5000-7000.00 to blow now that they are in their late 40's-50's.

Even Galaxy Edge is a bit of a letdown without the original characters not allowed on campus.
Why didn't Disney just build the themed restaurant for Galaxy's edge instead of going all in on a concept that is screaming disaster at this moment.
Again, could change, maybe Disney showed fans the worst parts of the experience and is saving the best on arrival.

Someone needs to tell this guy, "IT'S NOT A HOTEL!".
Seriously, this is the kind of hype I expected from the vloggers: Over the top with very little criticism - He didn't think the cabins were big enough and he didn't get to see the extending light saber. Other than that, it was FANTASTIC!

But it is a hotel....lol you can make it as LARPY as you want but its priced and set up like cruise...yet the square footage you can actually explore is likely smaller than a large cruise ship lobby. People are paying to spend 2 nights here and its not on the ocean. Its going to be perceived as a hotel over and over again. Sure you can say its so much more than that but it would be in vain.

Honestly just feel bad for Sean Giambrone and the lady playing the captain. Sean had probably 12 hours of having to look interested and should but won’t get an Emmy for that. The poor Captain probably felt like she won the lotto booking that gig only to be panned across the internet as a Lord Farquaad look-a-like in Allison Janney drag.

Who is the target market for this Star Cruiser? It looks like Disney tried to create a generic sci-fi hybrid of battlestar galactica, 5th element, Mass Effect, Star Trek and a little Star Wars to appeal to the broadest market available.

Disney obviously isn’t marketing or
Making this for those who grew up with the original trilogy.
If they could manage to develop working sleep pods from 5th element for the flight down, I'd be game.....
I want to see Ewoks though so doubt they're targeting me lol
Is it safe to say we won't see Stormtroopers since they'll miss launches? 🤓

Thank you for speaking on behalf of millions of fans.
I’m not speaking for them, I’m just agreeing with them based on the preview Disney took down. Apparently Disney thought it looked terrible or people were cancelling their reservations so they pulled the video.

I’m sure once people experience the star cruiser the reviews will be positive and Disney was just focusing on the weaker moments to hide the incredible stuff. Keep the surprises.
