Sorry but if i am paying over 3 grand i want a pool. cruises for that much that are on the open ocean have a pool at least.
I don’t think this is going to be that kind of hotel. It’s more like a two-day role-playing/escape room/murder mystery/interactive storytelling/scavenger hunt/MagiQuest-type experience. It’s only a hotel in that you will eat and sleep there.

..it will be landscaped off - look at the drawing - you can see plans for hedges/whatever in front of things that might be seen.
Everything with the black/white border will be landscape to hide the building. They aren't gonna let you see something they don't want you to.

You aren't following the discussion... I'm talking the approach from the road, not the drop off curb area.

look again - they have hedges everywhere to block all vantage points. (yellow highlighted)

Just because you dont know about these kind of getaway adventures doesnt mean they don’t exist. What is unique here is the idea of someone as big as disney doing it with star wars...

The people who have the biggest problem with this are the people who don’t want this... but instead were just looking for a star wars hotel for their stay at wdw.

How many guests do you think will end up having to be relocated to another hotel because 7 hours into this they are going to go "This isn't what I thought it was when I booked it....."

Hopefully they will be checking at the door for the double stroller crowed, that accidentally books what they think is some magical vacation.

..or can't afford it (which is fine) and just want to tear down the ones who can...

If you want to pay 3k for this, great have at it. I could care less on that respect.

My only concern is that there just isn't enough demand to sustain this thing more than 9 months... and that those who DO pay 3k, are going to find out they are not getting this whole emersion thing to a "T" as they expect from the DIsney brand. At some point Disney cuts back on the highly paid equity cast who can make this thing a hit.. and replaces them with $12 an hour "mouse keeping" that only changes sheets if you request it type cast.. and that happens at month 10 when advanced bookings fall off, and they can't get enough LARP's to keep spending that 3k a pop.

I think the concerns about long term demand are why the hotel is being built with 100 rooms rather than a thousand; even if it’s a one and done for every single guest who does it, it’s still going to take an incredibly long time to get through all those people because of the low throughput.

If those are hedges illustrated in the diagram... why are the same things inbetween the buildings where people actually have to move between the buildings? And blocking things like crosswalks, etc. What you've highlighted look like sidewalks... hence why they connect the crosswalks.

And 'hedges' need to be some colossal hedges to cover a 3+ story building.

Look, I never doubted they will have landscaping (duh).. the question is how they will screen or dress the whole thing that has it's flank exposed to the major route of travel.

How many people get off the cruise ship because of the same thing? How do you know people will be able to book this without some more guidance or hand held experience to minimize that risk?

As to the rest of your post.. you quoted someone else, not my text.

You are reading the drawing incorrectly. The stippled areas surrounding the building are illustrating concrete walkways / sidewalks. You can tell by the connection to accessible curb cuts and crosswalks in the roadways. This plan does not illustrate landscaping because it is another page in the overall drawings set. There will be berms and heavy plantings to obscure views. It isn’t a problem anywhere else at WDW to obscure a three story building.

Now... a ten story gravity building... another story.

Highlighted in yellow is the topographical rendering of raised berms.

That amounts to 36,500 reservations per year. Knowing that Star Wars isn’t as popular overseas, the majority of guests will likely be Americans. I have a hard time believing this thing will be anywhere near capacity in ten years. But maybe they’ll add enhancements over time?

That is just not that many people. That is less rooms than the standard roadside motel. For example, a typical Hampton Inn has 125 rooms. This is a demonstration of caution at its highest point.

There are 375 million people in this country alone and Europe also loves Star Wars. 60 million tickets were sold in this country for the last movie that was supposedly “divisive.”

If priced correctly so upper middle class families can attain the vacation cost, there will be plenty of demand. If they overprice it to the point people have to really consider to skip it then it will struggle.

Come on. This isn’t a $180/night roadside Hampton Inn. And there’s a huge difference between a $15 movie ticket and a multi-thousand dollar vacation package.

There is one of these being built in the world. Not one on every interstate exit. I was using the analogy to point out how ridiculously small this build is. My last paragraph covered the pricing sweet spot. I expect it to be very expensive, but they must be careful to still make it attainable. Something like $3k a night will make folks click on by.
